The role

OpenTrain is recruiting a Hebrew Transcription and Captioning Specialist to improve machine-generated Hebrew transcripts, record clear Hebrew audio, and verify caption timing and accuracy. This is a remote contractor, part-time role (20+ hours/week) paid per hour.

Work will be performed using a standard laptop microphone in a quiet environment and will follow project guidelines and deadlines. You will communicate progress with project managers and contribute consistent, high-quality data used to train speech models.

What you'll do

  • Review machine-generated Hebrew transcriptions and identify inaccuracies
  • Correct and refine Hebrew transcripts for linguistic accuracy and contextual integrity
  • Record yourself reading Hebrew transcriptions aloud in a clear, natural, consistent voice
  • Perform quality checks on written and spoken output for authenticity and correctness
  • Create and review captions so they are synchronized and faithful to the spoken content
  • Communicate progress clearly with project managers and follow project guidelines and deadlines

Requirements

Candidates must meet the core skills and setup requirements below; these are required for the role.

  • Fluency in Hebrew, spoken and written
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in transcript correction and proofreading
  • Experience with transcript correction, proofreading, or editing
  • Clear, engaging voice delivery for audio recordings
  • Ability to work independently in a quiet recording environment using a standard laptop microphone
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and organizational ability to manage tasks and deadlines

Helpful background

  • Experience in language instruction, linguistics, voice-over, or captioning
