About AI Training And Design Annotation

AI training is the human work behind modern artificial intelligence. Contributors prepare, structure, and evaluate examples so models can better understand visual content, design systems, language, and creative intent.

In this role, your expertise in typography, composition, branding, and visual hierarchy will help create structured training data from professional design assets and short video clips. Your annotations and quality benchmarks will contribute to the development of cutting-edge AI systems.

  • Apply professional design vocabulary to structured visual data
  • Help AI systems interpret layout, style, hierarchy, and composition
  • Work remotely on specialized, flexible contractor projects

The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking an expert Graphic Designer to annotate editorial, poster, and marketing design assets, along with short video clips. You will deconstruct completed designs into compositional layers and create structured metadata describing their visual systems.

The role requires precise communication about design concepts, framing, movement, and visual flow. You will also create exemplar annotations, identify schema edge cases, and work with project leads and quality control as annotation frameworks evolve.

  • Role type: Contractor
  • Experience level: Expert
  • Pay range: $20-$50 per hour
  • Subject area: Editorial, branding, and marketing design annotation
  • Data type: Image assets and short video clips

What You'll Do

You will evaluate and structure layered design files using Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and similar tools. Your work will turn finished creative assets into detailed, consistent annotations that capture both visible elements and underlying design logic.

You will also support the ongoing improvement of the project by documenting ambiguity, missing categories, and difficult cases. Strong alignment with project leads and quality control will be important as the annotation schema and guidelines are updated.

  • Annotate editorial, poster, and marketing design assets according to a defined schema
  • Annotate short video clips using cinematography and composition standards
  • Describe hierarchy, geometry, style, typography, framing, movement, and visual flow
  • Deconstruct completed designs into compositional layers and structured metadata
  • Create exemplar annotations that establish quality benchmarks
  • Document ambiguous cases, missing categories, and annotation schema edge cases
  • Use Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and comparable design platforms
  • Maintain alignment with project leads and quality control

Requirements And Qualifications
