About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. We help contributors discover projects, build a unified portfolio, and turn human-in-the-loop AI work into durable freelance careers.

OpenTrain AI is the hiring and contracting organization for this role and offers flexible, remote opportunities where you can grow by doing real work that shapes modern AI behavior.

Why AI Training Work Matters

AI training (data labeling and human feedback) is the human side of building intelligent systems — everything from evaluating model outputs to reviewing generated code. It’s flexible, remote-friendly work that connects contributors to the cutting edge of how AI systems are built.

This role gives you direct impact: your reviews and fixes improve reliability and quality for dialog-agent backends used in education, entertainment, and question-answering systems.

The Role

As a Go Code Review Developer you will review AI-generated Go code, validate solutions for correctness and maintainability, and resolve challenging backend issues discovered during validation.

This is a part-time contract role requiring 20+ hours per week, remote work in English, and a hands-on software engineering background focused on backend systems.

  • Employment type: Contractor, Part-time
  • Time commitment: 20+ hours/week
  • Language: Fluent written and verbal English
  • Work location: Remote, worldwide

What You’ll Do

Your core responsibility is to ensure AI-generated Go solutions meet high standards for correctness, efficiency, and long-term maintainability. You’ll provide concrete fixes, feedback, and guidance when generated code falls short.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to raise engineering quality across backend components that support dialog agents.

  • Review and validate AI-generated Go code for accuracy and performance
  • Diagnose and resolve difficult Go coding issues encountered during validation
  • Provide constructive, actionable feedback to improve implementations
  • Help maintain coding standards and reliable backend behavior
  • Participate in cross-team discussions to improve system design and evaluation criteria

Requirements

We require demonstrated software engineering experience and strong Go skills. Candidates must be able to judge code quality, propose fixes, and explain technical reasoning in clear English.

These are strict requirements for the role and will be used to evaluate fit.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of relevant software engineering experience
  • Strong Go programming knowledge and backend development skills
  • Proven ability to diagnose and fix non-trivial software issues
  • Experience reviewing, validating, or improving AI-generated code (preferred)
  • Fluent written and verbal English communication
  • Solid judgment in code quality, correctness, and best practices

Helpful Background

The following are not strict requirements but make you a stronger candidate and help you be productive faster.

  • Experience contributing to public GitHub repositories or large codebases
  • Familiarity with backend systems, scalable services, and testing practices
  • Interest in collaborative AI dialogue systems and model-generated code evaluation
  • Prior work rating or evaluating code (label types include code annotation and evaluation/rating)

How This Work Is Structured

OpenTrain AI hires contractors to perform annotation and validation work. You will receive tasks that focus on computer code review and evaluation; labeling work for this role involves assessing code correctness and providing ratings or edits as needed.

You’ll manage your workload remotely, typically working on tasks through OpenTrain’s workflow. Maintain clear, timely communication with reviewers and engineering partners to close validation loops.

  • Data type: Computer code / programming
  • Labeling types: Computer programming/coding and evaluation/rating
  • Contractor engagement with flexible, remote hours

Who Should Apply

Apply if you are a practicing software engineer with solid Go experience, enjoy code review and mentoring, and want part-time remote work that directly affects how dialog-agent backends behave.

This role is suitable for engineers who want flexible contracting work while building a portfolio of AI-training contributions on OpenTrain.

  • You should be comfortable giving concise technical feedback and shipping fixes when necessary.
  • Ideal for engineers who want consistent, meaningful part-time work on AI validation projects.

Next Steps

If this role fits your background, create or update your OpenTrain profile and apply. Be prepared to demonstrate Go experience and examples of code review or public contributions.

OpenTrain will use your profile to match you to validation tasks and projects that fit your skills and availability.
