The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a GitHub Workflow AI Training Specialist for an hourly, remote contractor role. You will create realistic and challenging computer-based tasks using GitHub and related Git workflows, then record yourself completing those tasks clearly and accurately.

Your work will help train advanced AI models to better understand real user behavior across software collaboration, version control, documentation, administration, and project-management workflows. This is an entry-level opportunity for candidates with hands-on GitHub experience.

What You'll Do

You will design, execute, and review GitHub-based tasks that reflect realistic software and collaboration scenarios. Each submission should be complete, understandable, and aligned with project guidelines.

  • Design realistic and challenging GitHub tasks based on software, documentation, collaboration, administrative, or project-management use cases.
  • Record yourself executing each GitHub task on your computer.
  • Verify that your setup supports the task, including access, test repositories, files, branches, sample issues, and required tools.
  • Review recordings and documentation before submission.
  • Ensure each submission is complete, understandable, realistic, and aligned with project guidelines.

Required Skills

You should have practical experience with GitHub and be comfortable explaining or documenting computer-based workflows in English. Strong attention to detail is important for producing consistent, high-quality contractor work.

  • Hands-on experience with GitHub repositories, branches, commits, pull requests, issues, documentation, code review, or collaboration workflows.
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
  • Comfort using computers, browser-based tools, GitHub, files, folders, code editors, terminals, and recording workflows.
  • Strong understanding of repositories, commits, branches, pull requests, merge conflicts, issues, README files, permissions, and project boards.
  • Ability to deliver consistent quality in an hourly, remote contractor workflow.
  • Ability to create realistic and challenging GitHub tasks.
