The Role
As a German-English Localization and Translation Expert, you will review and improve AI-generated outputs for the Germany locale. You will evaluate accuracy, clarity, reasoning quality, and adherence to prompts and guidelines while making consistent, defensible quality decisions.
This role is designed for an experienced language professional who can combine advanced German writing and editing skills with strong English comprehension and rigorous localization quality processes.
German proficiency: native or near-native, with professional Germany-locale writing and editing ability
English proficiency: C1 or higher for reading and writing
Experience level: Intermediate
Languages: German and English
Subject matter: German localization, translation, and linguistic QA
What You’ll Do
You will assess AI responses against structured criteria and provide clear, well-supported feedback. The work includes linguistic review, methodology review, correction, ranking, and explanation.
Where needed, you will fact-check localized content using reliable sources and sound reasoning, paying close attention to details that affect the Germany locale.
Review AI-generated outputs for accuracy, clarity, and reasoning quality
Check adherence to prompts, guidelines, style guides, and terminology
Identify linguistic and methodology issues
Write high-quality corrected outputs, explanations, and model answers
Rate and rank multiple AI responses using structured evaluation criteria
Apply LQA and MQM error typologies, including severity and category decisions
Evaluate tone, register, inclusivity, cultural nuance, names, dates, units, and references
Use CAT tools, translation memories, termbases, automated checks, and QA workflows
Requirements
You should bring substantial professional experience in localization or translation and be comfortable making repeatable, evidence-based quality judgments. Prior experience with AI data training, annotation, or evaluation is preferred.
A bachelor’s degree or higher is required in German Translation, Linguistics, Localization, Communications, or a related field.

Native or near-native German proficiency
C1+ English reading and writing proficiency
5 or more years of professional localization or translation experience
Multilingual localization experience preferred
Demonstrated MQM or LQA experience, including severity and category decisions
Strong terminology management and copyediting skills
Proficiency with CAT tools and structured QA workflows
Ability to fact-check localized content with reliable sources
Prior AI training, annotation, or evaluation experience preferred
