About AI training work
AI training (data labeling, annotation, and human feedback) is the human side of building AI. Contributors prepare and review examples that teach models to interpret data, reason, and answer correctly—work that is remote, often flexible, and on the cutting edge of technology.
Accessible: many projects need no prior experience beyond language fluency and attention to detail.
Impactful: your annotations and scenarios directly shape how models reason and respond.
The role
You will join OpenTrain as a German-English LLM Analytical Data Reviewer on a short contract to help fine-tune large language models. This role centers on reviewing, labeling, and creating analytical text scenarios to improve model reasoning, logical deduction, and data interpretation.
Contract length: 1 week, 40 hours total per week.
Schedule: flexible hours except for 4 hours daily overlap with UTC-8 (America/Los_Angeles).
Work type: fully remote; text-only data (classification and evaluation/rating tasks).
Review, label, classify, and validate analytical text according to project guidelines.
Answer analytical questions and create training scenarios that teach correct reasoning.
Identify edge cases, discrepancies, and annotation issues and escalate when needed.
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality while meeting productivity targets.
Collaborate with the project team through written feedback and quality checks.
Requirements
Bilingual proficiency in German and English (mandatory).
Strong analytical, logical reasoning, and research skills.
Creative and lateral thinking to craft and evaluate scenarios.
Excellent written communication and collaboration skills.
Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting.
Commitment to 40 hours per week for the contract duration with 4 hours daily overlap to UTC-8.
Desktop or laptop computer and reliable internet connection.
Helpful background
Bachelor’s degree or undergraduate study in Engineering, Literature, Journalism, Communications, Arts, Statistics, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
Comfort with basic arithmetic, data interpretation, and structured logical problems.
How the contract works & compensation
This is a short, focused engagement where quality and productivity targets are tracked. You will complete text labeling and rating tasks remotely and follow provided annotation guidelines. Compensation is competitive and based on experience; specific pay details are provided during onboarding.
Tasks are delivered and reviewed through OpenTrain workflows; no prior platform experience is required.
You will receive project guidelines, examples, and quality checks before full task assignment.
Timely, clear communication and adherence to guidelines are required for contract completion.
Who should apply and next steps
Apply if you are bilingual German/English, enjoy analytical problems, and can commit to a focused, one-week contract with daily overlap to US Pacific hours. This role is a great entry point into AI training work for writers, analysts, translators, and curious problem-solvers.
To apply: create or sign in to your OpenTrain account, complete your profile, and submit your application for this role.
