The Role

OpenTrain AI is recruiting a Geography Domain Reviewer to support quality assurance for large language model evaluation projects. You will review geography-focused prompts and completed tasks, assess the quality of AI-generated or contributor-produced content, and help maintain consistent annotation standards across the project.

The subject matter includes physical and human geography, countries, capitals, climate, geopolitics, demographics, maps, environmental systems, and related topics. This is a part-time contractor role requiring 20 or more hours per week, available worldwide.

What You'll Do

You will combine geography expertise with careful review and research to assess whether prompts and completed tasks meet project standards. Your feedback will help contributors improve and support the ongoing refinement of AI evaluation processes.

  • Review and validate prompts covering physical geography, human geography, countries, capitals, climate, geopolitics, demographics, maps, environmental systems, and related topics.
  • Evaluate completed tasks for factual accuracy, reasoning quality, completeness, and compliance with project guidelines.
  • Identify factual inaccuracies, logical inconsistencies, hallucinations, outdated information, and low-quality annotations.
  • Assess whether prompts are challenging, relevant, and aligned with project objectives.
  • Provide clear, constructive, and evidence-based feedback to contributors.
  • Follow established quality standards and review guidelines to maintain consistency.
  • Escalate ambiguous or complex cases when necessary and document review findings.
  • Collaborate with project managers and AI teams to improve evaluation quality and review processes.

Requirements

This role requires advanced academic or professional familiarity with geography and the ability to evaluate regional, demographic, political, environmental, and spatial information accurately. The source requirements call for a master's degree or higher and at least three years of relevant professional experience.

  • Master's degree or higher, preferably in Geography, Human Geography, Physical Geography, Geospatial Science, Environmental Studies, Urban Studies, International Studies, or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of physical and human geography, including countries, regions, cities, physical features, populations, cultures, political boundaries, climate, geopolitics, demographics, and maps.
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in geographic research, academia, education, geospatial analysis, journalism, publishing, research, geographic content development, or a related field.
  • Excellent written English, research, and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail when reviewing geographic, regional, demographic, and spatial information.
  • Ability to evaluate AI-generated content for factual accuracy and reasoning quality.
