About AI Training And Code Evaluation

AI training is the human side of building modern artificial intelligence. People review model outputs, compare competing responses, write strong examples, and explain why one solution is more accurate, secure, or useful than another.

As a Full-Stack Code Reviewer, your engineering expertise will help evaluate AI-generated code and technical reasoning. Your feedback and reference solutions can shape how models handle real-world software development problems.

  • Work on cutting-edge AI evaluation tasks
  • Use hands-on engineering experience to improve model behavior
  • Contribute remotely with a flexible contractor arrangement

The Full-Stack Code Reviewer Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking an intermediate-level Full-Stack Code Reviewer with strong Node.js, React, and TypeScript experience. You will assess AI-generated full-stack code, system designs, and technical explanations, then create high-quality reference implementations and step-by-step reasoning for complex engineering problems.

The work covers correctness, clarity, security, performance, scalability, prompt adherence, API design, authentication and authorization, data modeling, React rendering and state, Node.js runtime behavior, asynchronous concurrency, error handling, testing, observability, and comparison of multiple AI responses.

  • Hourly contractor role
  • Part-time work with a 20+ hour weekly commitment
  • Remote work from an eligible hiring country
  • Country-dependent rates of up to $40, $60, or $100 per hour

What You’ll Do

You will combine code review, technical writing, testing, and engineering judgment to identify strong and weak AI responses. You will also create prompts and reference answers that demonstrate sound full-stack development practices.

  • Review AI-generated full-stack code, system designs, and technical explanations.
  • Write reference implementations and model solutions for complex engineering problems.
  • Evaluate outputs for correctness, clarity, security, performance, scalability, and best-practice adherence.
  • Identify issues in API design, authentication and authorization, data modeling, React state handling, Node.js runtime behavior, asynchronous work, testing, and observability.
  • Fact-check technical information and compare multiple AI responses based on reasoning quality.
  • Create detailed prompts and high-quality reference answers across full-stack topics.
  • Test AI outputs for inaccuracies or unsafe recommendations in real-world engineering scenarios.

Required Skills And Experience

This role requires strong professional experience building production web applications with Node.js and React, along with advanced TypeScript skills across backend and frontend codebases. You should be comfortable explaining technical decisions clearly in English at a minimum C1 proficiency level.

  • Strong professional experience building production web applications with Node.js and React.
  • Advanced TypeScript fluency across backend and frontend codebases.
  • Knowledge of asynchronous patterns, the event loop, API design, validation, error handling, security, and background jobs or queues.
  • Frontend experience with hooks, component patterns, state management, performance optimization, forms, and accessibility basics.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB, including schema design, migrations, indexing, and query optimization.
  • Experience with sessions, JWT, cookies, OAuth/OIDC, RBAC/ABAC, and secure secrets handling.
  • Strong testing practices across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, plus CI/CD workflows.
  • Minimum C1 English proficiency and the ability to write clear technical explanations.
  • Experience reviewing API design, authentication, data modeling, debugging, testing, observability, and performance.

Helpful Background

Previous AI data training, annotation, or AI-generated technical content evaluation experience is a strong plus. Familiarity with common full-stack tools and a methodical approach to reasoning quality, debugging, and code review will also help you succeed.

  • Express, Fastify, NestJS, Prisma, TypeORM, or Next.js
  • A methodical approach to debugging and code review
  • Strong architecture judgment for Node.js and React applications
  • Experience evaluating AI-generated technical content

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

This opportunity blends hands-on full-stack engineering with AI training work. Your practical judgment will help models produce safer, clearer, more performant software, while your written explanations provide examples that others can learn from.

It is a strong fit for Node.js and React engineers who enjoy technical evaluation, careful problem solving, and explaining complex engineering concepts in a precise and accessible way.

  • Apply production engineering judgment to emerging AI systems
  • Work remotely on flexible part-time contractor projects
  • Use both coding expertise and technical communication skills
  • Help shape how AI handles real-world software engineering tasks
