FreeCAD Manufacturing Design Engineer

You will create technical examples that help train AI systems to understand real-world mechanical design and manufacturing. The work combines parametric CAD modeling, engineering documentation, manufacturability checks, and review feedback.

• Create and revise detailed parametric 3D models of mechanical parts and assemblies in FreeCAD or comparable software.
• Produce manufacturing-ready engineering drawings with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, or GD&T, and tolerance stack-ups.
• Design components for sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, plastics, and injection molding.
• Review CAD models for accuracy, manufacturability, and production readiness.
• Write concise technical documentation and assembly instructions for AI model training.
• Apply technical review feedback to CAD models and related documentation.

What It Pays and Takes

This is a remote, part-time contractor engagement focused on advanced mechanical design for manufacturing. Prior AI training experience is not required.

• $40 to $100 per hour equivalent, paid per task.
• Approximately 15 to 20 hours per week.
• Remote work open to candidates in the listed countries.
• Fluent English for technical documentation and collaborative review.
• At least two years of experience designing mechanical components for manufacturing environments.
• Professional expertise with FreeCAD or similar parametric CAD software, including advanced modeling, assemblies, and drawing generation.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, Design for Manufacturing practices, and production-grade CAD review.
• Experience with sheet metal, CNC machining, plastics, or injection molding is valuable.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
