OpenTrain is seeking a Financial Modeling and Investment AI Training Expert to support rigorous finance-focused task creation and evaluation. You will combine deep investment knowledge with careful quality judgment and structured feedback.
This is a worldwide contractor opportunity conducted in English, with a time requirement of 20 or more hours per week. The project details classify the opportunity as entry level, while the role requirements call for 8–15 years of professional experience across relevant finance functions.

What You'll Do
You will design demanding finance tasks that reflect professional financial analysis and real-world investment decision-making. You will also establish reliable reference answers and evaluate whether AI-generated insights are technically accurate, practically relevant, logically sound, and appropriately aware of risk.
Produce gold-standard solutions and refine task assumptions, calculations, and expected reasoning
Evaluate AI outputs for technical accuracy, practical relevance, valuation logic, and risk awareness
Review and calibrate other contributors' work while maintaining day-to-day quality standards
Identify genuine edge cases and clarify ambiguous evaluation rubrics through appropriate expert escalation
Provide structured feedback that separates valid financial analysis from flawed assumptions
Required Expertise
This role requires advanced investment and financial modeling expertise, along with the ability to challenge assumptions and make evidence-based judgments. Strong written reasoning is important for explaining technical errors, practical weaknesses, and model limitations.
8–15 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, hedge funds, asset management, credit, equity research, or corporate finance
Expert application of DCF, comparable-company, precedent-transaction, and asset-based valuation methods
Advanced construction and review of three-statement, LBO, merger, credit, forecasting, and scenario models
Strong investment judgment in opportunity evaluation, assumption challenge, risk assessment, and evidence-based recommendations
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
CFA, CAIA, MBA, equivalent qualification, or substantial front-office or investment-desk experience is valued
Helpful Background
Prior experience with AI evaluation, data annotation, content review, quality assurance, or a related analytical role can be useful but is not required. The most important qualities are dependable financial judgment, precise written reasoning, and the ability to evaluate analytical outputs consistently.
