About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. We connect people with hands-on AI work—annotation, evaluation, and human feedback projects—so contributors can start and grow careers teaching AI.

  • We focus on flexible, remote roles that let you work part time and build practical AI-training experience.
  • OpenTrain members contribute directly to how modern AI systems learn from real human examples.

Why AI training matters

AI models learn from examples prepared and reviewed by people. Your careful extraction, anonymization, and structured corrections become the ground truth that helps teams benchmark model performance and detect improvements or regressions over time.

This work is a way to join the cutting edge of AI development with flexible, remote hours and accessible entry points for people with attention to detail or domain knowledge.

  • Work affects real model behavior and evaluation.
  • Many projects require domain knowledge (this one benefits from wealth-management experience).

The role

We are hiring a Financial Document Collection and Annotation Specialist to create a set of anonymized financial document + JSON ground-truth pairs for retail wealth-management benchmarking.

You will gather roughly ten varied financial documents, extract client financial information, populate our provided JSON schema accurately, validate formatting and completeness, and annotate any ambiguities or missing data with tags/notes.

  • Project-type: short contract, part-time (contractor).
  • Data type: documents (PDF, XLS, images).
  • Tooling: work in our internal proprietary annotation tooling.

What you'll do

Deliver a high-quality dataset of document + JSON correction pairs used to benchmark model performance. Each pair must be anonymized, accurate, and validated against the provided schema.

  • Gather approximately 10 varied financial documents (we provide sourcing support).
  • Extract required fields: assets, liabilities, account/holding details, balances, currencies, dates, and identifying attributes.
  • Populate the provided JSON schema/template precisely for each document.
  • Validate JSON formatting and completeness before submission.
  • Flag ambiguities or missing information with tags/notes and document rationale.

Requirements

You must be comfortable working with financial documents and producing clean, schema-compliant JSON outputs. This is an intermediate-level assignment: you should be detail-oriented and able to follow structured guidelines precisely.

  • Experience level: Intermediate (able to work independently with guidance).
  • Familiarity extracting data from PDFs, XLS files, and images and transcribing into structured fields.
  • Ability to validate JSON formatting and completeness.
  • Wealth-management experience is a strong plus to source and interpret the right documents.
  • Available to work remotely up to fewer than 20 hours per week.

Compensation, schedule, and employment type

This is a contract, part-time role with a fixed payment. The project is remote and open worldwide.

Payment will be a fixed price of 300 USD for the engagement as listed; the role is expected to fit within the stated weekly time limit.

  • Payment type: Fixed-price (USD 300).
  • Time requirement: Less than 20 hours per week (flexible scheduling).
  • Employment types: Contractor, part-time.

How the work is completed

You will use our internal proprietary tooling to submit annotated and anonymized documents alongside the completed JSON. We provide a JSON schema/template and sourcing support for the documents when needed.

Submissions will include the anonymized source document, the populated JSON file, and any tags/notes explaining ambiguous or missing fields.

  • Work remotely using the provided internal tooling.
  • We provide schema, guidance, and support for document collection.
  • Deliverables: ~10 anonymized document + validated JSON pairs with notes on ambiguities.

Who should apply and how to apply

Apply if you have financial-document experience, strong attention to detail, and comfort working with JSON and spreadsheet/PDF data. Wealth-management background is a significant advantage but not strictly required.

When you apply, describe your relevant experience, note any wealth-management expertise, and confirm availability under 20 hours/week. Include examples or a brief note about how you'd approach sourcing and anonymizing documents if available.

  • Open to applicants worldwide; work is fully remote.
  • Preferred: candidates who can demonstrate accuracy with structured data and clear judgment on ambiguous financial entries.
