About AI Training Work

AI training is the human side of building modern artificial intelligence. Expert contributors create examples, write reference answers, review model responses, and apply detailed evaluation standards so AI systems can produce more accurate and useful results.

This work puts professional judgment directly into the development of cutting-edge AI. Projects are often remote and flexible, making them suitable for experienced specialists who want to contribute alongside other professional commitments.

The Role

OpenTrain is recruiting a Finance and Advisory AI Evaluation Lead to train AI systems that reason across financial, strategic, and accounting domains. You will serve as a senior authority responsible for creating expert scenarios and gold-standard solutions, evaluating AI-generated responses, and establishing the quality bar for professional outputs.

The work spans markets and investments, corporate finance, accounting, audit, tax, and management consulting. It requires broad cross-institutional judgment and the ability to distinguish technically accurate, strategically sound, and executive-ready work from plausible but flawed analysis.

  • Contractor engagement with part-time scheduling
  • At least four hours per day and 20 or more hours per week
  • Up to 40 hours per week
  • Four hours of working-time overlap with Pacific Time
  • Engagement duration of up to 10 weeks
  • Worldwide opportunity
  • Primary working language: English

What You'll Do

You will create difficult, realistic training tasks and reference solutions that test AI reasoning across finance and advisory workflows. You will also review, calibrate, and approve model outputs against rigorous standards while helping resolve ambiguity in evaluation criteria.

The role combines technical review, strategic judgment, quantitative analysis, and quality-control leadership. Your feedback will help clarify where outputs fail, surface difficult edge cases, and improve the consistency of AI evaluation data.

  • Produce high-difficulty tasks covering quantitative finance, corporate strategy, accounting standards, and investment analysis
  • Write gold-standard and reference solutions for expert-level scenarios
  • Evaluate AI-generated financial, strategic, and accounting responses
  • Validate financial models, task scenarios, and strategic frameworks for accuracy and practical soundness
  • Apply rubrics across varied finance and advisory workflows
  • Identify domain edge cases, paradoxes, and ambiguities in evaluation standards
  • Review, calibrate, and approve outputs against demanding quality requirements

Requirements

This role requires senior-level authority in finance or advisory work. The project information identifies an entry-level experience label, but the substantive role requirements call for 10 or more years of senior leadership experience and authoritative multidisciplinary expertise.

Candidates should be able to exercise independent judgment across complex financial and strategic outputs, communicate conclusions clearly to an executive audience, and maintain consistent quality standards across different types of work.

  • 10 or more years of senior finance or advisory leadership experience
  • Experience such as CFO, investment banking or private equity managing director, or Big Four partner
  • Authoritative expertise across markets and investments, corporate finance, accounting, audit, tax, and management consulting
  • Advanced CFA, CPA, MBA, or equivalent professional qualification
  • Exceptional analytical rigor and quantitative modeling judgment
  • Strong executive-writing ability
  • Multidisciplinary leadership and quality-control expertise
  • Ability to apply rubrics and resolve complex domain edge cases

Helpful Background

Prior experience in AI evaluation, data annotation, content review, quality assurance, or a related analytical role is helpful but not required. Familiarity with the human review processes used to improve AI systems can complement your finance and advisory expertise.

A bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is accepted.

How to Apply

Apply through OpenTrain to be considered for this contractor engagement. Your OpenTrain profile gives you a place to present your finance and advisory background while exploring additional opportunities in AI training and data labeling.

As an expert contributor, you can help shape how AI systems handle complex financial reasoning, strategic analysis, and professional communication.
