About AI Training Work
AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Specialists create realistic examples, evaluate model responses, and define what good performance looks like so AI agents can handle increasingly complex tasks accurately and responsibly.
Remote work using a computer and internet connection
Flexible project-based opportunities in a fast-growing technology field
A chance to apply practical professional expertise to cutting-edge AI systems
The Role
OpenTrain AI is recruiting an Enterprise Support AI Task Author to create and calibrate expert tasks that train and evaluate advanced AI agents on realistic enterprise support work. You will turn support judgment calls into structured scenarios involving tickets, account configuration, runbooks, routing decisions, resolutions, and escalations.
This role combines hands-on product support experience with careful task design and objective evaluation. The listed experience level is entry level, but practical support expertise and the ability to reason through complex scenarios are required.
Contractor, part-time role
20+ hours per week
Remote opportunity for contributors in the Netherlands
English-language work
Pay range: USD $20–$50 per hour
What You'll Do
You will create support environments and evaluation materials that allow AI agents to demonstrate how they diagnose, route, resolve, and escalate enterprise issues. Each task should be realistic, clearly solvable, and evaluated against defensible criteria.
Author support triage prompts covering customer issues, account configuration checks, runbook research, and fix-versus-escalation decisions
Build realistic environments containing ticket queues, account records, runbooks, and system states
Solve each task to verify that the scenario is realistic, the answer is clear, and the rubric captures the required reasoning
Adjust ticket ambiguity, configuration complexity, and runbook depth to calibrate task difficulty
Review and correct AI-drafted prompts and rubrics when provided
Required Qualifications
You should be able to diagnose ambiguous enterprise support situations and explain why a particular routing, resolution, or escalation decision is correct. Strong written communication is essential because prompts and rubrics must be precise enough to support consistent evaluation without interpretation.
Hands-on experience as a support engineer, technical support specialist, or customer success engineer
Strong knowledge of product failure modes, escalation paths, ticketing systems, internal knowledge bases, and runbooks
Ability to reason through ambiguous support scenarios and choose between resolution and escalation
Ability to define defensible correctness criteria rather than relying on general customer-service judgment
Strong written communication for precise task prompts and scoring rubrics
Helpful background: supporting enterprise or industrial software products
Helpful background: writing or maintaining runbooks, escalation playbooks, or internal knowledge bases
Why This Work Matters
Your support expertise will help define how AI agents handle real enterprise scenarios involving ambiguity, troubleshooting, routing, and escalation. By translating professional judgment into realistic tasks and measurable evaluation standards, you will contribute directly to the development of more capable AI systems.
