The Role
OpenTrain is seeking an Electrical Engineering AI Evaluation Expert to create demanding evaluation tasks for AI systems operating in enterprise electrical systems and product design contexts. You will translate senior engineering judgment into realistic scenarios, reference outputs, technical analyses, and assessment rubrics.
The work should reflect the complexity, safety considerations, production scale, and governance practices of major industrial and technology organizations. Assignments support international standards using IEC and United States standards including NEC, NFPA 70, NESC, and IEEE.

What You'll Do
You will construct realistic scenarios covering complex circuit and systems design cycles, multi-stakeholder design reviews, manufacturing processes, and regulatory certification.
You will also produce reference materials and evaluation criteria that capture the technical and organizational judgment expected in enterprise electrical engineering workflows.
Develop tasks across power systems and grid infrastructure
Create scenarios involving semiconductor and PCB design
Cover embedded systems, firmware, signal processing, and control systems engineering
Write reference design specifications and engineering analyses
Prepare executive-level technical narratives
Apply circuit analysis, simulation, control theory, EMC and EMI compliance, reliability analysis, and failure mode analysis
Author rubrics that separate enterprise engineering judgment from generic textbook or coursework-level answers
Model workflows using Altium Designer, Cadence, MATLAB/Simulink, SPICE platforms, and enterprise PLM or EDA systems
Requirements
This project requires substantial professional electrical engineering experience despite the listed entry-level project classification. You should have at least five years of experience as an electrical engineer or engineering lead at a major technology, industrial, energy, or large enterprise organization.
Direct ownership of large-scale circuit designs, power systems, or engineering certification programs is expected. You must be able to apply IEC or United States standards to realistic engineering decisions and technical documentation.
