The Role

OpenTrain is seeking an Educational AI Training Expert to evaluate AI-generated educational content and create high-quality training examples. You will assess whether outputs are accurate, aligned with applicable standards, appropriate for their grade level, and grounded in sound instructional judgment.

Relevant expertise may come from K-12 or higher education, assessment and psychometrics, special education, tutoring, academic support, educational technology, curriculum design, or instructional design.

What You'll Do

You will collaborate asynchronously on educational task design, evaluation, and structured feedback. The work involves translating the judgment of experienced educators into clear examples that AI systems can learn from.

  • Design realistic educational scenarios and tasks based on practical experience
  • Create tasks involving lesson planning, item writing, grading, differentiation, intervention, curriculum design, accommodations, or student feedback
  • Review and compare AI-generated educational outputs
  • Evaluate accuracy, standards alignment, grade-level fit, and instructional quality
  • Create structured examples showing how experienced educators approach problems and decisions
  • Write clear, detailed feedback to improve AI performance on teaching and instructional tasks

Requirements

Candidates must have at least three years of professional experience in education. Your background may include teaching, curriculum or instructional design, assessment, special education, tutoring, academic support, educational technology, or related work.

A bachelor's degree in education or a relevant subject-matter field is required. You should also be able to assess educational content carefully and explain your reasoning in clear written feedback.
