About this role
OpenTrain is recruiting a Dutch STEM AI Safety Evaluation Expert to help evaluate advanced AI models on specialized scientific topics in Netherlands Dutch. The work combines expert prompt writing, model-response assessment, and structured classification of scientific conversations, with particular attention to accuracy, helpfulness, sensitive content, and responsible handling of dual-use information. This is a remote, part-time opportunity for a scientist who can bring detailed subject-matter judgment to AI training work.

What you will do
You will write expert-level prompts in Netherlands Dutch across specialized scientific topics. You will evaluate and annotate model responses for scientific accuracy, helpfulness, and appropriate handling of sensitive content. You will also apply structured guidelines to classify prompts and conversations, using scientific judgment to identify issues involving chemical safety, biosafety, biosecurity, hazardous materials, or other dual-use information.

Required skills
You should have an ongoing or completed PhD in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field, with depth in a focused scientific subfield. The role requires native or near-native fluency in Dutch as spoken in the Netherlands, business-level written English, familiarity with modern laboratory or computational techniques, and sound judgment regarding scientific safety and responsible treatment of dual-use information. You must currently reside in the Netherlands.

Helpful background
Experience reviewing, grading, or red-teaming technical content is helpful. Research or coursework in chemical safety and security, biosafety and biosecurity, hazardous-materials handling, radiochemistry, nuclear chemistry, energetic materials, or radiation physics is also relevant. Focused expertise in areas such as organic or inorganic synthesis, molecular biology, microbiology, virology, or genetics is valued. Prior AI or machine learning experience is not required, and workflow training is provided.
