The role — what this project is

OpenTrain is recruiting Dutch speakers to join a language data project focused on transcription review, captioning, and speech training audio. This contractor, part-time role requires careful language editing plus the ability to record clean spoken audio.

The project is remote and worldwide; expected minimum commitment is 20+ hours per week. Pay is hourly in USD — the project lists an hourly range of $15–$30/hr (with up to $30/hr shown). Work is paid per hour and you will follow project guidelines and quality metrics.

What you'll do day-to-day

This is hands-on language work mixing text and audio. You will review machine-generated Dutch transcriptions for accuracy and naturalness, produce corrected transcripts and captions, and record spoken renditions of those transcripts to create training audio.

• Review and correct Dutch transcriptions so they read naturally and accurately.
• Record high-quality audio of yourself reading corrected transcriptions for speech recognition training.
• Create precise captions that capture content and tone of spoken Dutch.
• Maintain a quiet recording setup and deliver clear audio samples meeting project specs.
• Follow project guidelines, quality metrics, and deadlines while collaborating with the team.

Requirements

The project requires demonstrable language and recording skills. Prior experience in AI training is helpful but not required; the essential qualifications are language fluency, clear audio, and reliable self-management.

• Fluent Dutch with impeccable pronunciation and grammar (required).
• Experience in transcription, captioning, or voice acting (preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in Dutch; English competency helpful.
• Access to a laptop or personal audio equipment capable of producing clear recordings (standard laptop microphone is acceptable).
• Availability to work from a quiet environment suitable for recording.
• Ability to self-manage remote tasks and stay motivated for 20+ hours/week.

Helpful background

You will stand out if you have relevant background that aligns with language or audio work. These are not strict requirements but will help you succeed and move faster through onboarding.

• Prior AI training data or language-data annotation experience.
