The role

OpenTrain is recruiting a Czech Bilingual Expert to transcribe, annotate, and analyze video content in Czech and English. You will deliver high-quality transcriptions with timestamps, perform linguistic analysis, evaluate emotional tone and intent, and produce detailed reports to guide model training.

• Position type: Part-time contractor, remote.
• Time commitment: Minimum 15 hours/week; project expects less than 20 hours/week.
• Data type: Video (transcription, evaluation, named-entity classification).
• (project will provide or specify tools).

What you'll do

This role combines precise transcription with higher-level linguistic analysis. Your work ensures that AI models learn correct phrasing, tone, and meaning from real speakers.

• Transcribe video content accurately in both Czech and English, including speaker timestamps.
• Analyze and describe emotionality, tone, and speaker intent.
• Evaluate grammatical structure and explain conceptual meaning of key vocabulary.
• Perform NER-style entity identification and classification where required.
• Document findings and prepare detailed linguistic reports for project teams.
• Provide expert feedback and recommendations to improve language datasets and labeling consistency.

Requirements

Candidates must meet the core language, experience, and availability criteria below. All requirements come from the project brief and must be met as stated.

• Fluency in Czech and English with exceptional written and verbal communication.
• Demonstrated experience in transcription, language analysis, or related linguistic work.
• Ability to identify and describe emotional tone, speaker intent, and conceptual language aspects.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Comfortable working remotely and independently as a contractor.
• Availability for at least 15 hours per week and ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with transcription tools and digital collaboration platforms.

Helpful background

The project prefers contributors with formal or practical experience in language work, but related experience can also be valuable. These qualifications are helpful but not strictly required unless specified by the hiring team.

• Background in linguistics, translation, or language technology.
• Experience working with multimedia content and remote international teams.
• A demonstrated passion for language, culture, and nuanced communication.

Compensation, schedule & how to apply
