The Role
OpenTrain is recruiting a Customer Support Task Author to create and evaluate AI training tasks based on realistic enterprise support scenarios. You will translate support judgment calls into structured tasks that test whether an AI agent can interpret tickets, check account configuration, use runbooks, and choose appropriately between resolution and escalation.
This contractor opportunity is designed for support professionals who can bring practical product knowledge to precise task design. The work is listed as entry level, while hands-on support experience is required.
Employment type: Contractor, part time
Time requirement: 20+ hours per week
Location: United States
Language: English
Subject matter: Enterprise support task evaluation
What You'll Do
You will design complete support scenarios, define how they should be evaluated, and test each task for realism and clarity. Your work will help establish reliable standards for AI behavior in complex enterprise support situations.

Write scoring rubrics with objectively verifiable resolution paths and escalation criteria.
Build realistic task environments containing ticket queues, account records, runbooks, and relevant system states.
Complete each task to verify that the scenario is realistic, the expected reasoning is clear, and the rubric captures the correct outcome.
Adjust ticket ambiguity, configuration complexity, and runbook depth to calibrate task difficulty.
Review and correct AI-drafted prompts or rubrics when provided.
Required Qualifications
You should have hands-on product support experience and be comfortable making and explaining decisions in ambiguous enterprise support cases. Careful writing and attention to detail are essential because task outcomes and evaluation criteria must be precise and defensible.
