The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a COBOL Legacy Systems Reviewer to analyze and document legacy application code while contributing domain expertise to AI training data. You will combine COBOL code interpretation, technical explanation, and structured feedback to support accurate model understanding.

What You'll Do

You will provide practical COBOL expertise through written and verbal input based on project prompts and tasks. Your work will help technical teams and AI systems interpret legacy applications accurately.

• Analyze, interpret, and document COBOL code used in legacy system applications.
• Explain program logic, data flows, integration points, technical requirements, and business logic clearly.
• Contribute to the creation and refinement of AI training datasets.
• Review technical specifications and clarify requirements to support accurate model understanding.
• Provide detailed written and verbal feedback based on project prompts and tasks.
• Collaborate remotely with project managers and technical stakeholders to meet deliverables and milestones.
• Participate in feedback sessions that improve project outcomes and model performance.

Required Qualifications

You should be comfortable interpreting legacy code and documentation, communicating technical concepts clearly in English, and working methodically through detailed analysis. The role requires hands-on COBOL knowledge and an understanding of the environments in which legacy systems operate.
