About AI Content Evaluation

AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Contributors review model-generated content, assess whether responses are accurate and useful, and identify safety or policy concerns so AI systems can improve.

This work offers a flexible way to participate in a fast-growing technology field. Your careful judgments can directly influence how generative AI responds to people.

  • Work primarily with text and occasionally with images or videos
  • Use detailed project guidelines to make consistent decisions
  • Help improve the quality, accuracy, and safety of AI outputs

The Role

As a Chinese Mandarin AI Content Annotator, you will evaluate generative AI content in Mandarin and English. You will review outputs, rate their quality and factual accuracy, compare responses, classify content, and flag safety or policy issues according to detailed instructions.

This is project-based freelance work, so task availability varies by project. The role may involve reviewing sensitive or potentially disturbing content when required.

  • Native-level Mandarin Chinese reading, writing, and comprehension
  • English proficiency at C1 or higher
  • 20+ hours of weekly availability
  • Entry-level opportunity requiring at least one year of professional experience

What You’ll Do

You will apply structured evaluation criteria to AI-generated content and communicate clearly when an output is inaccurate, unsafe, low quality, or inconsistent with project requirements. Strong attention to detail and reliable guideline application are essential.

  • Review primarily text-based AI outputs
  • Occasionally review images or videos
  • Rate content quality and factual accuracy
  • Compare multiple AI responses
  • Classify and label content
  • Write prompts, questions, or answers when assigned
  • Identify and flag safety or policy issues
  • Participate in red-teaming, RLHF, and other evaluation tasks

Requirements

You must be currently residing in Singapore and legally able to work as an independent contractor or freelancer there. A bachelor’s degree in any field and at least one year of professional work experience are required.

You should be comfortable working independently with complex written instructions and asking clarifying questions when guidelines are unclear. You must also be able to pass language and skills screening, calibration, and ongoing quality checks.

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field
  • At least one year of professional work experience
  • Native-level Mandarin Chinese proficiency
  • C1 or higher English proficiency
  • Strong critical thinking, reasoning, fact-checking, and communication skills
  • High accuracy when following detailed labeling guidelines
  • Comfort reviewing potentially sensitive content
  • Reliable computer and stable high-speed internet
  • Legal ability to work as an independent contractor or freelancer in Singapore

Who Should Apply

This role may suit Mandarin-speaking professionals who enjoy careful analysis, fact-checking, and evaluating how clearly and safely AI communicates. No specific degree field is required, but you should be prepared to demonstrate strong language skills and consistent judgment during screening and calibration.

  • Mandarin speakers with strong written and reading comprehension
  • Detail-oriented reviewers who can make evidence-based judgments
  • Professionals comfortable with flexible, project-based work
  • Candidates able to maintain accuracy across ongoing quality reviews
