About AI Training and Code Evaluation

AI training is the human side of building modern artificial intelligence. Contributors review examples, evaluate model responses, and provide detailed feedback that helps AI systems produce more accurate and useful results. In this role, your C# and .NET expertise will help assess whether AI-generated code is correct, executable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with project instructions.

  • Work directly with AI-generated programming content
  • Use technical judgment to evaluate correctness and model behavior
  • Help shape how AI systems understand and produce C# code

The Role

OpenTrain is seeking an expert C# Quality Assurance Lead to review AI-generated C# code and trainer QA submissions. You will evaluate output quality against project guidelines, provide precise written feedback, monitor contributor quality, support reviewers and trainers, and improve QA processes for C# training projects.

This is a part-time contractor role for contributors in the United States, requiring 20+ hours per week. Compensation is $75 per hour, and English is the required working language.

  • Category: C# code review and AI-generated code evaluation
  • Experience level: Expert
  • Work arrangement: Part-time contractor
  • Location: United States
  • Time requirement: 20+ hours per week
  • Pay: $75 per hour
  • Language: English

What You'll Do

You will combine senior-level development judgment with structured AI quality evaluation. Your reviews will cover both the technical content of code and the quality of the explanations, tests, reasoning, and instructions associated with each submission.

  • Review AI-generated C# code, .NET snippets, API examples, debugging responses, tests, architecture explanations, and step-by-step reasoning.
  • Evaluate code correctness, runtime behavior, type safety, async behavior, debugging accuracy, readability, maintainability, performance, security, test coverage, and instruction following.
  • Identify incorrect logic, non-executable code, flawed async usage, poor error handling, weak type safety, security risks, hallucinated APIs, and incomplete explanations.
  • Spot recurring or critical quality concerns, escalate them appropriately, and support contributor communication about workflows and review standards.
  • Answer questions about .NET behavior, async/await, LINQ, dependency injection, EF Core, testing, security, and rubric interpretation.
  • Create and maintain style guides, trackers, FAQs, examples, honeypots, calibration tasks, and onboarding materials.
  • Run onboarding and training calls for C# contributors and help improve QA workflows.

Required Qualifications

This role requires strong C#/.NET development experience and the ability to make consistent, well-supported judgments about code quality. You should be comfortable explaining technical findings clearly in written English and applying detailed rubrics to a wide range of programming scenarios.

  • Strong C#/.NET development background in backend engineering, code review, QA, or technical mentoring.
  • Deep understanding of C# syntax, object-oriented programming, LINQ, generics, collections, exceptions, async/await, tasks, dependency injection, nullable reference types, records, delegates/events, and .NET runtime behavior.
  • Strong C#/.NET code review judgment and experience evaluating AI-generated code or QA submissions.
  • Ability to detect security, correctness, async, type safety, maintainability, and runtime issues in C# code.
  • Clear written technical feedback in English.
  • Availability for 20+ hours per week.

Preferred Technical Experience

The following experience is preferred and can help you assess a broad range of C# training content and support contributors effectively.

  • Familiarity with .NET, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, xUnit, NUnit, or MSTest.
  • Experience using Visual Studio, Rider, NuGet, Azure, AWS, Docker, GitHub, CI/CD, and logging tools.
  • Experience with AI training, large language model evaluation, code QA, or rubric-based code review.
  • Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, reviewers, engineers, coding mentors, or QA professionals.
  • Comfort using Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, GitHub, and project management systems.

Why This Work Matters

Every major AI system depends on examples prepared and reviewed by people. By evaluating C# responses, debugging guidance, tests, and technical explanations, you will help improve how AI systems assist developers and reason about real-world software engineering tasks.

AI training work is remote and often flexible, making it possible to contribute around other professional, academic, or personal commitments. This project offers a way to apply advanced software expertise to cutting-edge AI development.

  • Apply specialized C# and .NET knowledge to emerging AI systems
  • Work remotely as a part-time contractor
  • Contribute to code quality, safety, and reliability improvements
