The Biomedical Engineer AI Evaluation Role
OpenTrain AI is recruiting biomedical engineers to review and refine AI-generated responses on biomedical engineering topics. The work spans biomechanics, bioinstrumentation and sensors, biomedical signals, medical device design, biomaterials, imaging, and verification and validation.
You will assess whether responses are technically accurate, logically sound, complete, and defensible. Particular attention is given to unit handling, assumptions, safety considerations, clinical claims, regulatory sensitivity, and responsible communication.

What You'll Do
You will challenge AI-generated technical content and provide structured feedback that helps improve model reasoning. Assignments may involve realistic biomedical engineering scenarios, calculations, design questions, and analysis tasks.
Evaluate AI-generated answers for technical accuracy, completeness, clarity, and defensible reasoning.
Challenge model responses with realistic biomedical engineering scenarios, calculations, and design and analysis reasoning tasks.
Review prompts, explanations, and step-by-step solutions, including unit handling and interpretation of constraints.
Identify factual errors, unsafe recommendations, unsupported clinical claims, missing assumptions, invalid simplifications, and misuse of standards.
Help shape how AI explains assumptions, risk, limitations, experimental verification, and escalation to clinical or regulatory experts.
Required Qualifications
This role requires professional biomedical engineering experience and the ability to evaluate complex technical reasoning. A bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field is required, and advanced credentials are strongly preferred.
At least 4 years of professional biomedical engineering experience.
Hands-on experience in medical devices, biomechanics, biomaterials, tissue engineering, bioinstrumentation, imaging systems, physiologic signals, clinical engineering, quality and regulatory work, or manufacturing and validation.
Strong knowledge of physiology for engineers, transport phenomena, materials behavior in biological environments, biosignals, sensor and measurement systems, and systems modeling.
Comfort evaluating technical assumptions, constraints, unit consistency, uncertainty, and safety considerations.
Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field.
Ability to critique AI-generated biomedical reasoning for accuracy, completeness, safety, and regulatory sensitivity.
Helpful Experience
Experience with AI data training, annotation, red-teaming, or evaluation of AI-generated technical content is a strong plus. Familiarity with medical-device standards, quality systems, and validation practices will help you assess regulatory-sensitive responses.
