Why AI training matters (brief)

AI training is the human side of building modern models: experts annotate, evaluate, and correct examples so AI systems learn accurate reasoning and reliable facts. As a biology evaluator you will directly shape how models explain biological concepts, reason about experiments, and present disease and physiology information.

The role

We are hiring biology specialists to review AI-generated responses and provide expert feedback that improves scientific accuracy, clarity, and step-by-step reasoning. This is text-only work centered on human and animal biology, molecular pathways, physiology, disease fundamentals, and experimental reasoning.

• Assess biological correctness of AI answers and identify conceptual or methodological errors.
• Write high-quality model solutions and clear explanatory text that demonstrate correct methods.
• Compare and rank multiple model responses by biological soundness, reasoning quality, and adherence to the prompt.
• Test outputs for inaccuracies, oversimplifications, missing regulatory details, and bias across use cases.

What you'll do day-to-day

Your typical tasks focus on careful evaluation, clear explanation, and concise corrective guidance for model outputs. Work is remote and task-driven; you will receive prompts and model responses to review, rate, and edit.

• Review AI-generated biology responses for accuracy, clarity, and prompt fidelity.
• Evaluate reasoning quality, experimental constraints, causal mechanisms, and methodology.
• Rank answers by accuracy, clarity, and adherence to the prompt when comparing responses.
• Fact-check biological claims and explain advanced biology precisely and accessibly.
• Produce model solutions and example answers that demonstrate correct approaches.

Requirements

Candidates must meet the stated academic and skill requirements. We preserve every substantive requirement from the project description.

• MS or PhD in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Physiology, or a closely related life-science field.
• Strong command of human and animal biology, molecular pathways, physiology, and disease fundamentals.
• Experience developing or critically reviewing complex biology content (problem banks, textbook sections, research notes).
• Excellent biological writing skills and the ability to explain advanced theory clearly.
• English proficiency at C1 level or above.
• Previous data labeling, RLHF, or AI model evaluation experience is a bonus (not required).

Helpful backgrounds (not required)

The project benefits from a range of life-science specialties. If your experience includes any of the following, your expertise will be especially useful for nuanced evaluations and model solutions.

• Systems biology, computational biology, or molecular and cellular biology.
• Evolutionary biology or wildlife biology with strong comparative physiology knowledge.
• Experience with experimental design, lab methods, or interpreting molecular pathway data.

Project details & compensation

This is a remote contractor role with ongoing work. Typical workload is about 20 hours per week; exact hours vary by project variant. Pay is hourly at $70 USD per hour. Work focuses on text-model evaluation and RLHF-style rating tasks.
