The Role
OpenTrain AI is recruiting an Art Domain Expert for AI Evaluation to support AI training work focused on fine arts and visual arts. You will use strong subject-matter knowledge to create demanding prompts, assess AI-generated responses, and provide objective, evidence-backed feedback.
The subject area includes fine arts, visual arts, architecture, design, art history, museums, and artists. The role is listed as entry level, while a master's degree or higher is expected and at least three years of relevant experience is preferred.

What You'll Do
You will help test and improve AI systems by combining subject expertise with careful written analysis. Reviews should be accurate, consistent, well-reasoned, and supported by reliable references where appropriate.
Create challenging, domain-specific prompts covering fine arts, visual arts, architecture, design, art history, museums, and artists
Evaluate AI-generated responses for factual accuracy, reasoning quality, completeness, and nuance
Develop benchmark datasets and adversarial test cases
Compare and rank responses, explaining judgments with reliable references
Propose improved prompts and help document evaluation standards
Maintain consistent annotation quality while collaborating with AI researchers to improve model performance
Requirements
This role requires strong real-world knowledge of art and visual culture, along with the ability to assess artistic, historical, and cultural information accurately in context. Relevant professional or academic expertise in fine arts, visual arts, art history, design, museum studies, humanities, or a related field is required.
Master's degree or higher in any field; art history, fine arts, visual arts, design, humanities, or related study preferred
Relevant experience in art research, academia, museums, galleries, curation, criticism, journalism, education, publishing, or related work
At least three years of relevant experience preferred
Excellent written English and strong research and analytical skills
Careful attention to detail and objective judgment
Ability to support artistic and historical assessments with reliable references
Ability to create challenging prompts and evaluate responses for accuracy, reasoning, completeness, nuance, and hallucinations
Experience with LLMs, generative AI, prompt engineering, or AI evaluation preferred
Ability to work independently and provide evidence-backed reviews
