About AI Training Work
AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Contributors prepare and review examples—including annotated images and video—that help modern AI systems understand visual information and produce better results.
This is remote, flexible work at the cutting edge of technology. Many projects value specialized knowledge and careful judgment more than previous AI-training experience.
The Role
OpenTrain AI is seeking an Anime Hand Landmark Annotator for an advanced image and video annotation project. You will apply your understanding of anime illustration, hand poses, and anatomy to place hand and finger landmarks with high precision.
The role is entry level in AI training experience, and prior AI-training experience is not required. Your domain knowledge, visual reasoning, and ability to follow detailed protocols are central to the work.

What You'll Do
Annotate hand and finger landmarks or keypoints using MediaPipe-style hand topology.
Identify and mark anatomical joints, including the wrist, MCP, PIP, DIP, fingertips, and thumb-specific joints.
Place landmarks precisely according to defined annotation protocols and specified tolerance thresholds.
Infer and annotate partially occluded or visually challenging joints by reasoning through complex hand positions and interactions with objects.
Interpret varied hand poses, orientations, and perspectives across image and video data.
Review visual feedback, identify deviations from requirements, and make targeted corrections to maintain annotation quality at scale.
Requirements
You should be comfortable working carefully with detailed visual instructions and applying consistent standards across many examples. Strong knowledge of hand anatomy and experience understanding hands in anime illustration are essential.
Strong knowledge of hand anatomy and joint names, including MCP, PIP, DIP, CMC, and IP.
Experience with anime illustration and an understanding of hand poses and proportions.
Ability to place keypoints accurately while following detailed annotation guidelines.
Visual reasoning skills for handling occluded or ambiguous landmarks.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance and correction.
Helpful Background
Experience with annotation tools or keypoint placement.
