About AI Training Work

AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. People review examples, evaluate model behavior, and contribute specialized knowledge so AI systems can become more accurate, useful, and reliable.

In this role, your emergency communications expertise will support document-based evaluation and data collection focused on realistic, protocol-aligned ambulance dispatch scenarios.

The Role

OpenTrain is seeking an Ambulance Dispatch AI Training Specialist to support AI training focused on emergency response communications. You will apply practical dispatch knowledge to help make communications simulations realistic, accurate, and aligned with protocol-driven decision-making.

This project-based contractor opportunity combines emergency communications expertise with careful evaluation of triage, prioritization, routing, resource allocation, and documentation practices. The role is listed as entry level for AI training, and prior AI-training experience is not required when you bring relevant dispatch expertise.

  • Employment type: Contractor, part time
  • Time requirement: 20+ hours per week
  • Work location: Worldwide and fully remote
  • Working language: English
  • Pay: $30–$55 USD per hour
  • Work type: Document evaluation and data collection

What You'll Do

You will contribute operational judgment and careful review to emergency communications data used in AI training. The work requires consistent application of dispatch procedures while maintaining accuracy across several information streams.

  • Assess concurrent requests, determine urgency and incident type, and allocate resources appropriately in real time.
  • Document inbound communications, dispatch decisions, and relevant actions clearly and accurately.
  • Route information and dispatch instructions to appropriate responders while following established procedures.
  • Manage multiple inbound and outbound communication streams without losing attention to detail.
  • Contribute domain expertise to data quality standards and protocol effectiveness for AI training.
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing activities that improve the realism and accuracy of emergency communications simulations.

Requirements

This role is designed for contributors with professional ambulance or emergency dispatch experience. You should be comfortable applying protocols consistently, making decisions under time pressure, and communicating clearly across multiple channels.

  • Professional expertise in ambulance or emergency dispatch operations.
  • Experience with incident triage, prioritization, and protocol-driven decisions.
  • Ability to allocate resources using established procedures and checklist-based decision-making.
  • Clear, concise, and empathetic written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to manage radio, phone, and chat channels simultaneously.
  • Composure and sound judgment when prioritizing concurrent urgent requests.
  • Accurate documentation of inbound communications and dispatch decisions.
  • Strong attention to operational detail.

Who Should Apply

This opportunity may suit ambulance dispatchers, emergency dispatch professionals, and coordinators who want to apply their operational knowledge to cutting-edge AI training. Formal certification is not required, and previous AI-training experience is not necessary.

The strongest candidates can communicate professionally, maintain accuracy while handling several information streams, and apply emergency communications procedures consistently in project-based contractor work.

  • Ambulance or emergency dispatch experience is highly valued.
  • Dispatcher or coordinator experience is helpful.
  • Emergency communications and protocol knowledge are more important than prior AI-training experience.
