About AI Training Work In Advertising
AI training (also called data labeling or annotation) is the human work that teaches models how to write, evaluate, and improve. In advertising-focused projects you’ll shape how models craft messaging, test creative ideas, and reason about targeting, compliance, and measurement.
This work is highly flexible and remote-friendly — it’s ideal for seasoned advertisers who want to apply their craft to cutting-edge AI systems, influence model behavior, and earn contractor pay while working on a project-by-project basis.
You’ll influence AI outputs that generate ad copy, creative briefs, and testing strategies.
Work is task-driven and remote; many contributors balance it with other professional work.
Entry to expert-level projects exist; specialist advertising experience is rewarded.
The Role
As an Advertising AI Training Expert you will evaluate AI-generated ads, produce high-quality ad variants and briefs, and provide precise written feedback aimed at improving model reasoning and advertising performance.
Tasks combine evaluation and text generation: you will rate responses for clarity, persuasion, brand and platform fit, and produce gold-standard outputs such as ad copy sets, creative briefs, test plans, performance analyses, and written critiques.
Labeling tasks: EVALUATION_RATING and TEXT_GENERATION on TEXT data.
Deliverables: ad copy variations, creative-testing roadmaps, targeting critiques, and compliance checks.
Work arrangement: contractor, part-time, hourly pay.
What You’ll Do
You will apply advertising judgment across multiple AI responses and produce concrete, actionable feedback that helps models and teams improve creative and strategic decisions.
Review AI-generated ads and campaign assets for strategic fit, correctness, and practical usefulness.
Write high-quality ad copy, variations, briefs, and performance critiques demonstrating advertising best practices.
Assess targeting logic, claims risk, policy fit, and creative-testing decisions across multiple responses.
Produce precise written feedback that helps improve model reasoning and advertising quality.
Turn product briefs into paid campaign strategy and design creative tests with clear hypotheses and success metrics.
Adapt copy and creative across major paid channels (Meta, Google Ads, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, programmatic, CTV).
Requirements
Candidates must meet the role’s core experience and skills. We preserve every substantive requirement from the role description; do not apply unless you match the essentials below.
5+ years of advertising or performance marketing experience (agency or in-house).
Strong grasp of positioning, offer strategy, messaging frameworks, hooks, CTAs, and creative iteration.
Experience with paid channels such as Meta, Google Ads, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, programmatic, or connected TV.
Strong measurement instincts including CTR, CVR, CPA, ROAS, LTV, and experiment-design basics.
Excellent English writing and editing skills and comfort working as a remote contractor.
Prior experience with AI data training, creative QA, editorial review, or ad policy review is strongly preferred.
Ability to write compliant ad copy that avoids overclaims and spot weak targeting logic, missing proof, and risky claims.
Who Should Apply
This role is aimed at self-directed advertising professionals who can combine deep marketing judgment with clear written feedback. Ideal applicants are comfortable evaluating model outputs, creating testable creative strategies, and explaining decisions in writing.
Senior copywriters, performance marketers, strategists, or creative leads with measurable campaign experience.
People who can translate product briefs into paid-campaign strategies and testing roadmaps.
Applicants who want flexible, remote contracting and are available 20+ hours/week.
