About OpenTrain AI

OpenTrain AI is the hiring and contracting organization for this role. OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling — a place where people start and grow careers teaching AI. Working with OpenTrain means joining a fast-growing industry that shapes how modern AI systems learn from human examples.

About AI Training Work

AI training (also called data labeling or annotation) is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Annotators prepare and refine examples—like images and pose data—that models learn from. These roles are commonly 100% remote, flexible, and accessible: many projects require domain knowledge or attention to detail rather than formal credentials.

The Role — Pilot and Long-Term Potential

This is a 2-hour pilot project to annotate and refine 3D human key points based on 2D annotations. Successful completion of the pilot may lead to ongoing, flexible part-time contractor work with OpenTrain AI.

  • Project length: 2-hour paid pilot with potential for continued work.
  • Work type: Contract, part-time, less than 20 hours/week when ongoing.
  • Location: Must be based in the USA.

What You'll Do

Your task is to produce accurate 3D key points and realistic pose alignment by refining existing annotations and estimating depth/camera parameters. You will work directly in the annotation tool to validate, correct, and align key points with a skeletal avatar model.

  • Validate and correct 2D key points and visibility/occlusion flags.
  • Adjust depths, orientations, and alignments to achieve accurate 3D poses.
  • Estimate field of view (FoV) and ground planes to match image perspective.
  • Align key points with an avatar/skeletal model for realistic pose representation.
  • Use tool features (Undo/Redo, hotkeys) to make precise, efficient edits.
  • Troubleshoot out-of-frame or misplaced key points during review stages.

Requirements

We are looking for an expert annotator with proven 2D and 3D human pose experience and strong attention to detail. All requirements below are required for consideration.

  • Must be located in the USA.
  • Experience level: Expert in human pose annotation (3D and 2D).
  • Skilled at handling key point visibility, occlusion, and anatomical alignment.
  • Familiarity with annotation tools that support dataset management, FOV adjustments, and 3D target manipulation.
  • Comfortable estimating ground planes and adjusting camera/FoV to match perspective.
  • Strong problem-solving for annotation challenges (e.g., out-of-frame points).
  • Familiar with annotation review stages from initial assessment to final approval.
  • Efficient with hotkeys and shortcuts to streamline workflow.

Who Should Apply

Apply if you are an expert annotator experienced with human pose work and 3D alignment, enjoy detail-oriented tasks, and want flexible part-time contracting opportunities. This role suits technicians who can translate 2D cues into accurate 3D skeletons and who can maintain high quality under review processes.

Compensation, Tools, and Logistics

Pay for the pilot and ongoing hourly work is $15.00 USD per hour, paid on a per-hour basis. The work uses image data and includes label types such as action recognition, bounding boxes, classification, object detection, and point/key-point annotations. OpenTrain AI provides access to the annotation tool; expect features like Undo/Redo and hotkeys to speed your workflow.

  • Data type: Image annotation.
  • Label types: ACTION_RECOGNITION, BOUNDING_BOX, CLASSIFICATION, OBJECT_DETECTION, POINT_KEY_POINT.
  • Employment types: Contractor, Part-time.
  • Time commitment: Pilot (2 hours); ongoing work under 20 hours/week when available.

How It Works

You will be hired and contracted by OpenTrain AI for the pilot. Complete the 2-hour pilot assignment to demonstrate accuracy and speed. If performance meets quality standards, you may be invited to additional annotation tasks with flexible scheduling. All work follows standard annotation review stages and quality checks.

  • Complete the paid 2-hour pilot to be considered for ongoing work.
  • Follow annotation guidelines and review feedback to reach final approval.
  • Flexible scheduling for follow-up tasks, subject to project availability and quality.
