About this role
OpenTrain is recruiting for a Video Caption Specialist focused on robotics video annotation for AI model training. In this contractor role, you will review short robot-action video clips and evaluate and rewrite AI-generated captions to ensure they accurately describe physical robot movements and task execution. The role is fully remote and is a strong fit for candidates with a writing, editing, or annotation background.

What you will do
- Review short (5-second) video clips of robots performing physical tasks and analyze accompanying AI-generated captions for accuracy
- Detect visual-text discrepancies, including hallucinations and omissions, comparing captions against actual video content
- Rewrite captions using clear, concise, grammatically correct language that precisely describes robot actions and motions
- Emphasize precision of robot movement and task execution in every caption, as these details are critical for model training
- Maintain consistency with established project guidelines and rubrics, meeting daily throughput and quality benchmarks
- Collaborate with the team by providing actionable feedback and sharing best practices to improve caption accuracy

Required skills
- Fluency in English with excellent grammar, spelling, and written clarity
- Keen attention to detail with demonstrated ability to spot subtle errors or inaccuracies
- Comfort analyzing and comparing short video clips alongside their written descriptions, repeatedly
- Strong judgment for rewriting and editing text for maximum accuracy and clarity
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain consistency across structured, repetitive review work
- Reliable internet connection and a computer capable of smooth video streaming

Helpful background
- Experience in AI training data annotation, RLHF, or LLM evaluation
- Background in writing, editing, journalism, technical writing, transcription, or copy editing
- Familiarity with robotics, computer vision, or video annotation workflows
