About AI Training Work
AI training (data labeling/annotation) is the human effort behind modern AI: people create, validate, and explain examples that models learn from. In legal and tax projects, subject-matter experts annotate statutes, regulations, and returns so models can reason about compliance and interpretation.
These projects are often remote and flexible, and they let skilled professionals directly shape how AI systems handle complex technical subjects.
What You'll Do
You will apply your US tax knowledge and CPA judgment to review statutory materials, regulatory guidance, and individual tax returns. Clear written communication is crucial: you will draft concise summaries and explain technical points to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Analyze and annotate sections of the Internal Revenue Code and related US Treasury Regulations.
- Review US tax legal documents for clarity, technical accuracy, and correct application of statutory rules.
- Evaluate individual tax returns (including Form 1040) using current IRS guidance and regulations.
- Draft summaries and explanatory notes for technical and non-technical readers.
- Identify inconsistencies, ambiguities, and areas of confusion in legal and IRS source materials.
- Collaborate through digital platforms and share clear written findings and recommendations.
Tasks, Data & Tools
The work focuses on document data: statutes, regulations, guidance, and tax return documents. Labeling and review tasks include entity-level annotation, text generation and summarization, and evaluation/rating of outputs.
Labeling software is listed as 'OTHER'; you will use the project's chosen digital platforms to submit annotations, ratings, and written notes.
- Data type: Document
- Label types: Entity NER & classification, Text generation, Text summarization, Evaluation & rating
- (project-specific tools)
Requirements
You must meet the core professional and technical requirements below. These are strict: they ensure the legal accuracy and reliability of annotations that will train and evaluate AI systems.
- Active Certified Public Accountant qualification in India (required).
- Strong knowledge of US tax law, the Internal Revenue Code, and IRS compliance requirements.
- Experience reviewing or preparing US individual tax returns, especially Form 1040.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Detail-oriented judgment when working through statutory exceptions and regulatory nuances.
Who Should Apply
This project is a good fit for CPAs in India who have hands-on experience with US individual tax matters and enjoy translating complex legal text into clear guidance. Entry-level in title is acceptable but the role requires demonstrated technical knowledge of US tax rules.
If you value flexible, remote contract work and want your tax expertise to shape how AI systems interpret legal documents, this is a high-impact opportunity.
