Why AI training work matters
AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback) is the human side of building AI: people create, review, and correct the examples models learn from. This work is remote-friendly, often part-time, and a fast-growing way to apply domain expertise to shape how AI systems behave.
As a Sales Strategy AI Trainer you will apply real-world sales judgment to teach models how to reason about sales decisions, customer preferences, and commercial tradeoffs.
The role
OpenTrain is recruiting on behalf of OpenTrain for a contract Sales Strategy AI Trainer. This is a remote, part-time contractor role focused on text-based annotation and evaluation tasks that use real-world sales experience.
You'll work 20+ hours per week on projects that include evaluating model outputs, writing example prompt responses, and providing structured feedback drawn from sales statistics, customer preferences, and practical decision-making.
- Employment type: Contractor, Part-time
- Work arrangement: 100% remote
- Time commitment: 20+ hours/week
- Eligible countries: United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand
What you'll do day-to-day
You will review text prompts and model responses, rate them for accuracy and commercial relevance, and produce written prompt responses used to fine-tune models. Your feedback will be both qualitative (comments) and quantitative (evaluation ratings).
Tasks typically include analyzing sales statistics and staff-provided data to assess sales potential and inventory needs, monitoring customer preferences, advising adjustments to strategies, and documenting best practices for the training program.
- Evaluate model outputs using structured rating rubrics (EVALUATION_RATING).
- Write example responses and short-form training text for supervised fine-tuning (PROMPT_RESPONSE_WRITING_SFT).
- Provide clear written and verbal feedback to improve dataset quality.
- Document and communicate sales best practices to the training team.
