About the role

Micro1 is hiring a Robotics Evaluation Specialist to perform hands-on, on-camera evaluation tasks that train next-generation robotic and AI systems. This is a contractor, part-time role requiring roughly 20+ hours per week.

Work is performed remotely on video: you will execute physical actions on camera, observe robotic responses, and record structured evaluation ratings and written feedback. Pay is hourly at $15–$20 USD.

What you'll do

• Follow detailed task instructions precisely to execute simple physical actions on camera for robotics evaluation.
• Observe and review robotic system responses to your interactions and produce accurate evaluation ratings.
• Write clear, structured feedback describing accuracy, edge cases, and any unexpected behaviors.
• Document observations in a consistent format to support QA and model improvement.
• Collaborate asynchronously with the project team to refine evaluation protocols and share findings.
• Maintain high standards of data integrity and confidentiality throughout evaluation activities.

Requirements

• Proven experience with robotics pipelines or hands-on robotics projects.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to notice subtle differences in task outcomes.
• Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills in English; native or near-native preferred.
• Ability to follow complex instructions precisely and reliably without deviation.
• Strong generalist mindset comfortable handling a range of simple physical tasks on camera.
• Proficiency in documenting and reporting structured feedback.
• Reliable internet connection and a suitable environment for remote video-based tasks.
• Availability for approximately 20+ hours per week as a contractor in a part-time arrangement.

Helpful background

These qualifications are not required but will help you succeed and move into more advanced evaluation work.

• Experience with paused or historical robotics evaluation pipelines.
• Background in robotics engineering, human-computer interaction, or automation testing.
• Previous participation in user testing cycles or providing evaluative feedback to engineering teams.

How the engagement works

This is a contractor role that is performed remotely using video recording and a custom annotation or evaluation platform (listed as OTHER in the project tools). You will receive tasks, record on-camera interactions, and submit evaluation ratings and written observations.

Compensation is hourly between $15 and $20 USD. The project uses evaluation-rating labels on video data to train and validate robotic behaviors. Asynchronous collaboration and iterative protocol updates are part of the work.
