OpenTrain is recruiting a Quality Assurance Engineer to perform meticulous manual testing of web and mobile applications that supply high‑quality inputs for AI model training. This is a remote, contractor, part‑time position (20+ hours/week).
While no prior AI experience is required, you must have strong QA skills and at least 4 years of hands‑on manual testing experience. Compensation is hourly at $25–$60 USD.

What you’ll do
You will own manual test activities across web and mobile products and help the team deliver reliable integrations and data for AI training.
- Create and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test documentation.
- Perform functional, regression, exploratory, user acceptance, and cross‑browser testing for web and mobile applications.
- Conduct API testing and collaborate with developers to validate integrations.
- Identify, log, and track defects using industry‑standard defect tracking tools.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, contribute to sprint planning, and ensure quality deliverables.
- Champion QA best practices and continuous improvement across the team.
Requirements
You must meet the core technical requirements listed below; these are firm expectations for the role.
- Minimum 4 years of hands‑on experience in manual testing of web or mobile applications.
- Proficiency designing and executing test cases, test plans, and test documentation.
- Strong experience in regression, functional, exploratory, and user acceptance testing.
- Demonstrated ability in bug reporting, defect tracking, and cross‑browser testing.
- Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
- Hands‑on experience with API testing and mobile app testing.
- Exceptional attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Helpful background

- Experience testing messaging platforms (for example, LINE or similar messaging apps).
- Familiarity working in Agile, cross‑functional teams with developers and product owners.
- Comfort with industry test management and defect tracking tools.
