About OpenTrain
OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. We help people start and grow careers teaching AI by bringing opportunities together, building a unified training portfolio, and making it easy to apply and track work.
This listing connects talented project managers with short-term contractor work that helps shape how AI systems learn to plan, prioritize, and communicate in real-world projects.
About AI training work
AI training (data labeling / annotation) is the human side of building intelligent systems: people create and review examples that teach models how to think and respond. Contributions are typically remote, flexible, and accessible to people who bring domain expertise, attention to detail, or strong communication skills.
Many projects accept contributors with no prior AI experience; domain knowledge (here: project management) lets you work on higher-value tasks that directly influence model behavior in practical settings.
The role
We are recruiting a Project Management AI Trainer to translate real-world project leadership into training data and evaluations for AI systems. This is a contractor, part-time role (20+ hours/week) supporting text-based tasks: text generation and evaluation rating.
The role is remote and open to applicants located in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Pay is hourly (USD) with a range of $63–$119/hr and a top rate of $119/hr for experienced contributors.
- Employment type: Contractor, Part-time
- Time requirement: 20+ hours/week
- Label types: Text generation and evaluation/rating

- Collaborate with AI development teams on planning, resource allocation, and risk management scenarios.
- Develop and review AI training materials across diverse industries and project scales.
- Translate complex project scenarios into clear, data-rich examples for model training.
- Serve as a client-facing lead on goals and deliverables and guide technical staff.
- Explain team leadership, prioritization, and stakeholder communication for AI modules.
- Advise on budgeting, timeline coordination, and adaptive planning techniques.
- Review and refine AI outputs for relevance, accuracy, and practical value.
Requirements
You must bring real project-management experience and strong communication skills. This role requires translating human decisions and trade-offs into training data and reliably assessing model outputs for practical usefulness.
- Proven experience in end-to-end project management across industries and project scales.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing client-facing engagements.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, including resource and budget management.
- Expertise in risk assessment, mitigation, and adaptive planning.
- Ability to translate human decision-making into AI training data.
