About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is the centralized platform where people start and grow careers in AI training and data labeling. We help freelancers find specialized projects, consolidate opportunities, and build a unified portfolio of AI-training work they control.

Why AI training matters

AI training (data labeling and human feedback) is the human side of building intelligent systems. Contributors prepare, evaluate, and refine examples that teach models to reason, write, and act more accurately — a fast-growing way to work in tech that’s remote, flexible, and accessible.

The role

OpenTrain is recruiting a remote contractor to provide professional-services expertise for AI training. You will use consulting, legal, audit, or software-development experience to produce high-quality document inputs and evaluations that help models learn and improve.

  • Commitment: at least 10 hours per week with typical part-time work under 20 hours/week.
  • Employment: contractor, part-time, remote; work worldwide.
  • Language: strong written and verbal English required.

What you’ll do

  • Draft, evaluate, and revise strategic slide decks, contract risk assessments, and financial audit reports for model training.
  • Deliver clear written and verbal feedback on complex scenarios and project materials.
  • Analyze and clarify domain-specific documents to produce training inputs and guidance.
  • Participate in expert reviews to uphold standards and identify improvements.
  • Collaborate with project teams and other consultants on milestones and objectives.

Requirements

  • Deep domain expertise in one or more: software development, management consulting, law, or accounting and audit.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to synthesize complex concepts into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Experience working on distributed teams and adapting to changing project requirements.
  • High attention to detail and a track record of delivering expert-level work on deadline.
  • Comfort learning and using online collaboration tools.

Helpful background

  • Prior experience contributing to professional services projects or consulting for enterprise clients.
  • Located in or familiar with practices in the US, Canada, UK, Europe, or LATAM (helpful but not required).

How it works & compensation

  • Pay: USD hourly, range $40–$65/hr (project metadata lists $65/hr).
  • Data type: DOCUMENT. Labeling tasks: EVALUATION_RATING and TEXT_GENERATION.
  • (project will provide access and onboarding).
