The role
OpenTrain is recruiting a Privacy Annotation Specialist to perform legal document review and privacy labeling for a client (OpenTrain). This is a remote, contractor, part-time role requiring 20+ hours per week.
No prior AI experience is required; the role demands strong domain knowledge in contract review, eDiscovery, compliance, or information governance and the ability to handle sensitive material under privacy regulations.

What you'll do
You will annotate and validate legal documents to support AI training and legal-technology workflows. Tasks focus on identifying personal identifiable information, verifying OCR outputs, and ensuring accurate labels for downstream models.
- Review and annotate sensitive legal documents for PII and confidential content.
- Validate OCR outputs and confirm data integrity in legal investigation workflows.
- Perform quality assurance checks and audits on document batches.
- Collaborate with compliance and legal technology teams to clarify requirements.

Required skills and experience
Candidates must bring practical experience in legal document review, eDiscovery, contract review, compliance, or related litigation support roles. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential when working with sensitive information.
- Experience in contract review, quality assurance, eDiscovery, or compliance.
- Understanding of personal identifiable information and data privacy regulations.
- Experience in legal document review, litigation support, or managed legal services.
- Detail-oriented and analytical, able to work accurately under pressure.
- Practical background in privacy annotation or similar document review work.
Helpful background
Prior experience with legal-technology vendors and teams is a plus and will help you ramp faster. Typical successful applicants come from paralegal, eDiscovery specialist, privacy analyst, information governance, or compliance manager backgrounds.
- Experience at firms like Consilio, Epiq, Relativity, KLDiscovery, or TransPerfect is advantageous.

Labeling details, tools, and pay
You will work with document data (DOCUMENT) and perform entity labeling and evaluation/rating tasks (ENTITY_NER_CLASSIFICATION and EVALUATION_RATING) using a proprietary or other labeling tool. The project emphasizes data protection and strict handling of confidential information.
Compensation is hourly: USD $105–$140 per hour (rate offers may vary by experience and exact assignment).
