About OpenTrain
OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. We help people start and grow freelance careers teaching AI by consolidating opportunities, building a verified portfolio, and managing applications in one place.
OpenTrain AI is the hiring and contracting organization for this role. We provide structured tasks, training materials, and feedback so contributors can deliver high-quality work and grow their skills in a fast-moving industry.
Why AI training work matters
AI models learn from examples prepared and reviewed by people. Work like response evaluation and RLHF directly shapes how language models reason, communicate, and handle real-world queries.
This kind of work is remote, flexible, and accessible: many projects need language fluency, attention to detail, and clear written feedback rather than prior engineering experience.
The role
You will review Odia AI-generated responses and write clear, analytic evaluations in English that help improve future model behavior. Your feedback will cover reasoning, factual accuracy, clarity, tone, and conversational fit.
This is a part-time contractor role requiring at least 20 hours per week and consistent, high-quality written feedback on text responses.
What you'll do
- Review Odia-language model outputs and write concise, well-structured evaluations in English.
- Assess reasoning quality, clarity, tone, completeness, and conversational fit for each response.
- Compare multiple candidate responses and make fine-grained quality judgments and rankings.
- Identify factual inaccuracies, reasoning errors, harmful content, and communication gaps.
- Provide actionable suggestions and examples that help model developers improve replies.
Requirements
You must meet the required skills and be able to produce consistent, nuanced written evaluations in English while understanding Odia source content.
- Native-level fluency in Odia (or) and strong written English (en).
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Significant experience using large language models and comfort discussing model behavior.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to write clear, analytic feedback.
- Background in research, policy, analytics, linguistics, engineering, or another structured analytical field.
- Experience with RLHF, model evaluation, or data annotation is a plus but not required.
Who should apply
Apply if you are fluent in Odia, confident writing technical and editorial feedback in English, and interested in shaping how AI systems respond in regional languages.
This role fits contributors who want steady part-time contract work, enjoy careful analysis, and have experience or strong interest in language and model evaluation.
Compensation, schedule, and logistics
Compensation is paid hourly: $15–$20 USD per hour (typical rate $20/hr). This is a contractor, part-time position requiring 20+ hours per week. Work is remote and open worldwide.
Data type: text. Label/annotation types: evaluation ratings and RLHF-style judgments. You will complete tasks through OpenTrain's systems and follow provided guidelines and quality checks.
How to apply and next steps
Create or use your OpenTrain profile to apply. You will complete a short onboarding and a paid qualification task to confirm language skills and evaluation quality.
If accepted, you'll receive task instructions, evaluation rubrics, and access to ongoing batches. Feedback and calibration sessions help ensure consistent standards across contributors.
