About AI Training Work

AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. People prepare, capture, review, and evaluate examples that help modern AI systems learn how real applications, technical content, and workflows work. This role contributes scientific-computing application data through careful MATLAB use and screenshot collection.

  • Work with tools and workflows used to improve state-of-the-art AI systems
  • Use your technical background in a practical data-collection setting
  • Complete remote work using a computer and internet connection

The Role

OpenTrain is recruiting a MATLAB Scientific Computing Application User to support scientific-computing application work. You will operate MATLAB on your personally provided Windows PC and capture clear, high-resolution screenshots while using the application.

The opportunity is suited to professionals with practical MATLAB experience in numerical computing, simulation, signal processing, image processing, or related engineering applications. The role is listed as entry level, while hands-on MATLAB or related scientific-computing experience is required.

  • Remote contractor position
  • Compensation of $45 to $55 per hour
  • Default commitment of 40 hours per week
  • Structured time requirement of 20 or more hours per week
  • English-language work
  • Available in eligible countries across Europe, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States

What You'll Do

You will use MATLAB for scientific-computing applications and capture screenshots that meet the project's technical specifications. Your work may involve MATLAB features related to numerical computing, simulation, signal processing, or image processing.

Screenshots must exceed 2.5 megapixels. You may use a qualifying single high-resolution display or two side-by-side monitors captured together as one spanning image.

  • Operate MATLAB on a personally provided Windows PC
  • Work with numerical-computing, simulation, signal-processing, or image-processing features
  • Capture clear, high-resolution MATLAB application screenshots
  • Produce screenshots above 2.5 megapixels
  • Use a qualifying single display or dual monitors captured as one spanning image
  • Follow technical requirements consistently

Requirements

Hands-on experience with MATLAB or related scientific-computing work is required. You must have access to MATLAB on your own Windows PC. Software licenses, virtual machines, and hardware are handled through the standard OpenTrain project defaults.

Your display configuration must be capable of producing screenshots above 2.5 megapixels. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow technical requirements consistently are important.

  • Hands-on MATLAB use for numerical computing, simulation, signal processing, or image processing
  • Access to MATLAB on a personally provided Windows PC
  • Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, control-systems, or aerospace engineering applications
  • A qualifying single-monitor or dual-monitor setup that can produce screenshots above 2.5 megapixels
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow technical requirements consistently

Who Should Apply

This role may suit MATLAB users and technical professionals who have worked with scientific-computing applications in engineering or related settings. Relevant backgrounds include electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, control systems, and aerospace engineering.

Apply if you can independently operate MATLAB on Windows, meet the screenshot-resolution requirements, and dedicate at least 20 hours per week to the project. The default project commitment is 40 hours per week.

  • MATLAB users with practical application experience
  • Electrical, mechanical, control-systems, or aerospace engineering professionals
  • Candidates comfortable working independently on a personal Windows PC
  • Detail-oriented contributors who can meet precise image-capture requirements
