About this role
OpenTrain is hiring a Junior Open3D Engine Software Engineer to create interactive 3D scenes and simulations for AI training. You will use Open 3D Engine tools to build high-fidelity environments, integrate Python and C++ automation, support AWS-based deployment and asset management, and optimize simulation performance so the resulting synthetic data is accurate and useful for model training.

What you will do
- Build interactive 3D environments and simulations in Open 3D Engine
- Use Atom Renderer, Component Entity System, Gems, and Asset Processor in production workflows
- Write Python and C++ scripts to automate and extend O3DE projects
- Support cloud-based deployment and asset management with AWS
- Troubleshoot and optimize simulation performance for AI training objectives
- Document progress and communicate technical updates clearly

Required skills
- Hands-on experience with Open 3D Engine and its asset workflows
- Proficiency in Python and C++ for 3D scene development and automation
- Experience building interactive 3D environments for simulation or AI training
- Familiarity with Atom Renderer, Component Entity System, Gems, and Asset Processor
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic knowledge of AWS infrastructure
- Background in game development, simulation, or real-time graphics

- Previous work on AI training or simulation projects in O3DE
- Experience with asset management pipelines and collaborative development
