About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is the #1 platform for people building careers in AI training and data labeling. We help freelancers find and manage specialized AI training work, build a unified portfolio, and grow a durable, flexible freelance career. Creating an OpenTrain account is free.

Why AI training matters

AI systems learn from examples prepared and reviewed by people. Tasks like annotating documents, reviewing model outputs, and providing expert feedback directly shape how models perform in the real world.

This is a fast-growing, remote-friendly field where professionals with domain expertise — like finance — can contribute high-impact work on a flexible schedule.

The role

OpenTrain is recruiting for a Financial Documents Specialist focused on Japanese-language financial materials. This contractor position centers on creating, analyzing, and reviewing Japanese financial documents to provide real-world content and feedback for AI model training.

Work is remote and worldwide, contracted part-time (20+ hours per week). Tasks will involve documents, spreadsheets, and presentations used to train and evaluate model outputs (document data type; label types: evaluation rating and text generation).

What you'll do

Bring practical finance expertise into AI workflows by producing and assessing financial documentation in Japanese. You will evaluate model outputs for accuracy, integrity, and compliance, and provide clear written guidance to the project team.

  • Analyze, create, and review financial documents written in Japanese, including reports, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Format and assess financial reports and spreadsheets for clarity and correctness.
  • Provide domain-grounded text and feedback that trains and improves model outputs (text-generation and evaluation tasks).
  • Review outputs for accuracy, integrity, and compliance standards; flag issues and suggest corrections.
  • Communicate documentation and formatting requirements clearly with the project team.

Requirements

You must meet every listed requirement below. This role requires both language fluency and real-world finance/document experience.

  • Native-level Japanese proficiency plus strong written and verbal English.
  • Finance experience creating or managing financial documents (reports, spreadsheets, presentations).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Attention to detail and compliance-minded work habits.
  • Background in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.
  • Experience with Fortune 500 or similarly large organizations is preferred.

Who should apply

This role is a strong fit for finance professionals, accountants, or business analysts who want hands-on AI training work and to build a freelance portfolio across platforms. Entry-level candidates with the required document experience and language skills are welcome.

  • Professionals with experience in corporate finance, FP&A, accounting, or investor reporting.
  • People who have worked with U.S.-based finance practices or in multinational teams (helpful but not required).
  • Anyone comfortable collaborating remotely and providing clear, written feedback in Japanese and English.
