About AI training work
AI training is the human side of teaching models how to reason and respond. Contributors annotate data, write prompts, rate outputs, and give feedback so models produce safer, more useful answers. This work is remote, flexible, and often accessible without prior AI experience.
- Work is commonly asynchronous and remote — a great fit for part-time schedules and independent contractors.
- Projects range from simple labeling to specialist evaluation work that pays more for domain expertise.
The role
We are recruiting a Financial Services Expert to train generative AI on personal finance scenarios. You will evaluate model outputs, draft realistic prompts, and create rubrics that help AI systems give sound financial guidance.
This is a contract role for a OpenTrain project, open worldwide. The role requires English fluency and pays by the hour at $80–$110 USD, depending on experience and quality.
- Employment type: Contractor (remote, worldwide).
- Pay: Hourly, USD $80–$110/hr.
- Data type: Text. Labeling tasks: evaluation ratings and prompt/response writing (EVALUATION_RATING, PROMPT_RESPONSE_WRITING_SFT).
- (project uses a non-standard or proprietary tool).
What you'll do
You will apply your personal finance experience to improve model reasoning and recommendations. Tasks are collaborative and asynchronous, focused on producing high-quality inputs and evaluations that teach models how to behave in household finance situations.
- Analyze and assess realistic personal financial scenarios and model responses.
- Design and draft prompts that elicit helpful, accurate financial advice.
- Create structured rubrics to evaluate AI-generated financial recommendations.
- Provide detailed, actionable feedback on model outputs to guide improvements.
- Contribute practical insights from tax planning, investing, and household finance.
- Collaborate asynchronously with project coordinators and other domain experts.
- Monitor relevant regulatory or industry changes that affect personal finance guidance.
Requirements
Candidates will be evaluated on relevant professional experience and communication skills. This role values clear, accurate writing and an analytical approach to complex financial tradeoffs.
- Demonstrated experience in financial advising, wealth management, banking, investment analysis, or tax planning.
- Familiarity with common financial decision-making frameworks and rubrics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Analytical mindset and attention to detail for consistent, high-quality evaluations.
Helpful background

- Experience creating, reviewing, or applying financial guidance for individuals or households.
- Up-to-date knowledge of personal finance regulations, tax considerations, and industry best practices.
- Comfort working with distributed teams and asynchronous review processes.
