About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is the centralized platform for people building careers in AI training and data labeling. We help contributors find projects, build a consistent portfolio of work, and apply quickly — creating a durable freelance career path in the human side of AI.

This role is posted through OpenTrain: creating a free account lets you apply, track work, and show verified proof of experience across projects.

About AI training and why it matters

AI systems learn from high-quality human examples — the reports, annotations, and documents people provide shape how models understand the world. Contributing original financial materials helps models reason about real-world finance, valuation, and reporting.

This work is remote-friendly, often flexible, and gives contributors a direct hand in building the next generation of financial AI tools.

The role

OpenTrain is recruiting Finance Document Contributors to provide original financial materials — expert reports, investment analyses, valuation models, and internal memos — that will be used to train AI systems.

You will submit polished, professionally structured documents (PDF or Word) that include rich multimodal content (tables, charts, figures, diagrams) and demonstrate deep financial analysis and rigorous sourcing.

What you'll do

  • Submit original financial documents in PDF or Word format, typically 10–100 pages.
  • Include multimodal content such as tables, charts, figures, diagrams, and data visualizations.
  • Provide in-depth financial analysis, quantitative models, and well-structured reporting.
  • Ensure accuracy, disciplined sourcing, and professional polish across deliverables.
  • Participate in project alignment and clear Q&A with reviewers and project leads.

Requirements

  • Proven experience creating in-depth financial documentation for industry, academic, or internal business use.
  • Advanced financial analysis and quantitative modeling skills.
  • Ability to present complex information clearly, with rich visualizations and structured reports.
  • Strong attention to detail and disciplined sourcing practices.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to commit 20+ hours per week as a part-time contractor.

Helpful background and compliance

Familiarity with compliance standards related to financial documentation and reporting is a plus; bring any relevant controls or redaction practices you follow when sharing sensitive materials.

Compensation, format, and logistics

Pay: Hourly, USD $20–$30/hour (pay-per-hour). This role is contract, part-time, and remote — available worldwide, English required.

Deliverables should be original, high-quality files (PDF or Word) that include embedded tables, charts, and figures. Expect to respond to alignment questions and follow project guidelines for sourcing and redaction.

Who should apply and next steps

This role is well suited to finance professionals, consultants, analysts, or academics who can share original, substantial financial documents and models. The posting is listed as entry level on OpenTrain, but candidates must demonstrate prior experience producing in-depth financial materials.
