About This Role

OpenTrain is recruiting for a Finance & Investment Professional on a contractor, part-time basis to produce high-quality financial analysis used to train and evaluate AI models. This fully remote engagement focuses on documents and text outputs where your financial modeling and valuation expertise will be converted into structured training data.

Work is project-based with flexible scheduling; availability expectations will be discussed during screening. The role requires excellent written communication and a disciplined approach to translating finance work into AI-consumable formats.

What You'll Do

  • Evaluate and analyze complex financial models, including DCF and LBO structures, to produce robust AI training data.
  • Review and refine valuation methodologies for accuracy and relevance to AI learning objectives.
  • Analyze real-world investment scenarios and deliver detailed assessments of financial risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare, edit, and validate financial reports and forecasts aligned with industry-standard approaches.
  • Translate capital markets and fintech concepts into structured, AI-consumable insights and annotations.
  • Critically assess financial analysis and datasets to improve the quality and reliability of model training.
  • Communicate findings, logic, and rationale clearly in written form to support the AI training framework.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of hands-on experience in finance, investment analysis, or a closely related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling techniques, including DCF, LBO, and valuation methodologies.
  • Strong command of financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting practices.
  • Exceptional data analysis skills with particular proficiency in Excel.
  • Solid understanding of capital markets and fintech industry dynamics.
  • Excellent written communication skills to document processes and explain complex financial concepts clearly.

Helpful Background

The following are not required but will help you succeed: prior experience training or evaluating AI/ML models for financial applications, exposure to multidisciplinary projects that bridge technology and finance, and demonstrated critical thinking with strong attention to detail.

Schedule, Compensation, and Tasks

This is a fully remote contractor role with flexible scheduling. The engagement is part-time and project-based, with an expected commitment of 20+ hours per week.

Compensation is hourly (PAY_PER_HOUR, USD). The role pays within a range of $154–$210 USD per hour, with a top rate listed at $210 USD/hour.
