The role

OpenTrain is recruiting a Document Review Specialist to support high-volume AI training projects that require meticulous review of structured and unstructured documents. This is a contractor, part-time role requiring 20+ hours per week and strong judgment around privacy and data quality.

• Review large volumes of documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project taxonomies and guidelines.
• Annotate and classify content using provided schemas; perform entity NER classification and evaluation/rating tasks.
• Identify and redact sensitive personal information to reduce privacy risk and meet project requirements.
• Perform QA checks to validate outputs and maintain traceable records of reviewed documents and actions taken.
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to the project team and follow established workflows.

Requirements

You must have hands-on experience in document review, auditing, annotation, redaction, data classification, QA, or related compliance work. Strong written communication and the ability to follow complex guidelines are essential.

• Experience reviewing and classifying documents at scale (required).
• High accuracy and exceptional attention to detail for repetitive tasks.
• Familiarity with handling and protecting sensitive personal information.
• Experience with QA or validation workflows on large data sets.
• Ability to follow complex taxonomies and established guidelines precisely.
• Comfort working remotely and balancing efficiency with precision.

Helpful background and skills

Candidates with legal, compliance, privacy, auditing, or information security experience will be at an advantage. Prior involvement supporting data-driven AI or machine learning projects and familiarity with collaboration or workflow tools is helpful but not required.

Logistics, pay, and labeling details

This contract, part-time position supports worldwide remote contributors who can work 20+ hours per week. English language proficiency is required. The project uses a labeling tool described as "OTHER" in the brief and focuses on document data.

Compensation is pay-per-hour in USD. Hourly rates range from $63 to $119 per hour depending on role and performance; the posted hourly rate is $119/hour maximum.
