The role

OpenTrain and OpenTrain are recruiting a Data Analyst with strong Microsoft Excel skills to support training of next‑generation AI systems. This is a contract, part‑time role (20+ hours/week) open to candidates worldwide and performed remotely.

What you'll do

Use Microsoft Excel as your primary tool to analyze, clean, validate, and summarize document‑format datasets that feed AI training pipelines. Your analyses and reports will be used by project teams to ensure data integrity and to inform model development decisions.

• Conduct in‑depth data analysis using Excel functions, formulas, and visualization tools
• Review, clean, and validate datasets to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Identify trends, anomalies, and data quality issues and recommend corrective actions
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate data needs into actionable analyses
• Document methodologies, results, and recommendations clearly for technical and non‑technical audiences

Requirements

Candidates must demonstrate solid, real‑world experience performing data analysis in a business environment using Microsoft Excel as the primary tool. Strong communication and meticulous attention to detail are essential.

• Proven experience using Excel as the primary analysis tool in a professional setting
• Solid understanding of Excel functions, formulas, pivot tables, and charting/visualization
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data processing and reporting
• Ability to identify and correct data inconsistencies and maintain dataset integrity
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining findings to diverse audiences
• Comfort working collaboratively with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment
• Language: English (required)

Helpful background and tools
