The role

This is a remote, contract, part-time position for a Commercial Real Estate Energy Law Clerk supporting AI training through careful legal document review and annotation. The project requires focused, document-heavy work and collaboration with senior reviewers to escalate complex issues.

Time commitment: 20+ hours per week. Employment type: Contractor, Part-time. Language: English. Pay: $42–$55 USD per hour (pay-per-hour). Data type: document review with classification and entity/NER tasks; labeling software will be provided (listed as OTHER).

What you'll do

  • Review land control instruments for term, exclusivity, and conveyance language.
  • Identify deficiencies, gaps, and execution issues across site control documentation packages.
  • Organize findings into clear, standardized formats for senior legal review.
  • Process and annotate land and real estate documents to support due diligence workflows.
  • Flag non-compliant or incomplete filings based on project and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior reviewers to escalate and resolve complex document issues.

Required qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a paralegal or legal document reviewer.
  • Hands-on experience reviewing deeds, ground leases, easements, and rights of way.
  • Strong ability to assess term, exclusivity, and conveyance language in documents.
  • High attention to detail and comfort working with structured documentation and checklists.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, document-heavy environment.

Helpful background (preferred)

  • Experience supporting utility-scale energy or transmission projects.
  • Familiarity with PJM site control requirements or interconnection documentation.
  • Experience with East Coast projects or practice areas is a plus.
