AI training (data labeling / annotation / human feedback) is the human side of building modern AI: people create examples, write prompts, and judge model outputs so systems learn correct scientific reasoning and reliable answers.
This position focuses on chemical reasoning and discovery tasks for large language models: designing multi-step scientific problems, authoring deterministic solutions, and building reproducible rubrics that let models be evaluated with rigor.
The Role
You will create high-quality chemistry reasoning datasets and evaluation materials that test reaction analysis, molecular behavior inference, parameter estimation, and predictive reasoning under changing conditions.
Work is document-focused and centers on text generation and evaluation rating tasks: you will author prompts, reference explanations, deterministic solutions, and scoring rubrics used to assess model responses.

What You'll Do
- Design chemistry-based reasoning scenarios using experimental results, molecular data, and simulated chemical systems.
- Author multi-step tasks covering reaction analysis, chemical property inference, parameter estimation, and predictive reasoning.
- Develop evaluation problems for pattern discovery, reaction mechanisms, model selection, and scientific consistency checks.
- Create deterministic solutions, clear reference explanations, and detailed scoring rubrics for model assessment.
- Collaborate with reviewers and LLM engineers to ensure datasets are scientifically accurate, clear, and reproducible.
Requirements
Candidates must demonstrate strong chemistry knowledge and the ability to translate experimental or simulated data into rigorous reasoning tasks and reproducible evaluations.
- Strong background in chemistry, chemical research, scientific computing, laboratory analysis, or related analytical fields.
- Practical knowledge of chemical principles, scientific reasoning, quantitative modeling, and data interpretation.
- Experience with experimental design, reaction mechanisms, stoichiometry, thermodynamics, kinetics, or simulation-based analysis.
- Clear written communication for explaining complex scientific concepts, assumptions, and findings.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong judgment for reproducible scientific evaluation.
Helpful Background & Experience
This is an intermediate-level role best suited to contributors with hands-on chemistry experience who can craft multi-step analytical tasks and reproducible scoring systems.
- 3+ years of experience in chemistry or a closely related analytical discipline is preferred.
- Experience writing deterministic solutions and evaluation rubrics for scientific problems is a strong plus.
