About OpenTrain
OpenTrain is the #1 platform for people building careers in AI training and data labeling. We help contributors discover projects, build a professional AI-training portfolio, and grow a durable freelance career working with real-world AI systems.
This role is posted through OpenTrain to connect skilled business professionals with AI teams that need domain expertise to evaluate and improve model outputs.
Why this AI-training work matters
AI systems learn from human-reviewed examples; your assessments directly shape how models write reports, build slides, and analyze data. This is practical, cutting-edge work at the intersection of business and AI.
The industry is largely remote and flexible, making it a strong fit for experienced professionals who want part-time contract work that leverages their existing business skills.
- 100% remote: work from anywhere with a reliable internet connection.
- Flexible, part-time schedules — fit work around other commitments.
- Accessible to experienced business professionals; no prior AI-labeling experience required.
The role
OpenTrain is recruiting a Business Document Expert (German speaker) to evaluate and improve AI-generated business documents. You will use your business judgment and Microsoft Office expertise to provide structured feedback and ensure outputs meet high professional standards.
This is a fully remote, contract role intended for part-time commitment (20+ hours/week). Candidates based in the US are encouraged to apply.
- Employment type: Contractor, Part-time
- Time commitment: 20+ hours per week
- Language: Fluent German (required)
What you'll do
Work directly with AI-generated deliverables — Excel models, PowerPoint decks, Word reports — and evaluate them for clarity, accuracy, and business relevance. Deliver structured, actionable feedback that helps models produce consulting- or Fortune 500-quality documents.
Design and test realistic business scenarios and use cases so AI outputs reflect professional workflows. Track recurring issues and escalate where needed to improve model behavior over time.
- Evaluate and rate AI-generated documents across finance, strategy, marketing, operations, and other business areas.
- Provide clear, constructive annotations and written feedback on structure, logic, data accuracy, and presentation.
- Create realistic scenarios and test cases that mirror professional reporting, proposals, and presentations.
- Document recurring failure modes and recommend improvements to prompt design or model outputs.
Requirements
You must meet all listed requirements — they will be verified during the selection process. This role calls for proven business judgment, communication skills, and hands-on Office Suite mastery.
The client expects practical experience creating polished professional deliverables and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or related field (required).
- 3+ years professional experience in strategy, finance, marketing, operations, sales, HR, or similar business functions.
- Proven mastery of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word for producing polished deliverables.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Acute attention to detail and the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback.
- Self-starter comfortable working independently in a fast-paced remote setting.
- Fluency in German (required).
Helpful background (not required)
Applicants with prior experience at Fortune 500 companies, top consulting firms, or leading financial institutions are especially competitive. Familiarity with AI tools and evaluation workflows is useful but not mandatory.
Advanced degrees (MBA) or experience mentoring others on business deliverables are positive differentiators.
- Familiarity with ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or similar AI tools.
- Experience in AI evaluation, prompt engineering, or document automation.
- MBA or advanced degree and prior mentoring/feedback roles.
