About OpenTrain
OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. The platform helps specialists discover projects, consolidate opportunities, and build a unified portfolio so you can grow a durable freelance career teaching AI.
We connect domain experts with real AI training work: if you bring scientific expertise, OpenTrain helps you apply that knowledge directly to datasets and model development while managing assignments and payment.
Why AI training work matters
AI systems learn from examples prepared and reviewed by people. Biology experts shape how models understand and respond to biological questions by evaluating content, creating realistic scenarios, and improving dataset accuracy.
This kind of work is typically 100% remote and highly flexible, making it a strong fit for people who want part-time, impactful roles that use scientific training without prior AI experience.
The role — Biology AI Training Expert
OpenTrain is recruiting a Biology Expert to support AI training tasks that require real-world life-science expertise. This is a remote, contractor, part-time role requiring 20+ hours per week.
Compensation is paid hourly at $80–$90 USD per hour. The role is worldwide (English required) and is focused on text-based tasks including evaluation and generation of scientific content used for model training.
- Employment type: Contractor, Part-time
- Hours: 20+ hours/week (remote, worldwide)
- Pay: $80–$90 USD per hour
- Work language: English
- Data type: Text — label types include evaluation/rating and text generation
What you'll do
You will apply your biology expertise to improve training data and model outputs. Work is conducted within defined project frameworks and requires careful documentation and collaboration with platform teams.
